Officially have my new 365 sensor inserted!! Ready for another year of not having to worry about ripping off or putting in a CGM 🙌🏼

For those curious, the top bandage was from removing my previous sensor, and the bottom is from installing the new one!! The process too 5 minutes for the insertion and another 5 for the removal - no pain, no soreness. Easy peasy 😊

1 year on the Eversense 365. 🎉

Tomorrow I get my second sensor inserted, which feels like a good moment to reflect on what a year of continuous wear actually taught me.

So I did a thing! Proud to be a new owner of the insulin pump! It’s been over 2.5 years of being on MDI and it was great giving my body a break, but lately my control has slipped, and I was tired of it. So when this pump announced that it was pairing up with I had to jump on it. It’s been only a few hours but the tech is crazy

Every 5 minutes, twiist Loop builds a 6 hour glucose forecast using my CGM readings, insulin on board, and carb history, then automatically adjusts my basal to match. It’s not reacting to where my glucose is, it’s predicting where it’s going.

Pretty cool. I shall keep you updated 🥲

Diabetes Alert Dog: 1. Low Blood Sugar: 0

While I love diabetes tech, it’s not perfect. For instance, during this workout I actually sweated my CGM off. As most people have experienced, that just happens sometimes with CGMs...

But having Hazel there to let me know exactly where I’m at gives me peace of mind to keep pushing.

28 years in and I’m still learning that the best management is a mix of great tech and even better partners. 🐾
