Traveling soon? Long car rides can take a toll on your body, especially your neck, back, and hips. As physical therapists, we see a lot of stiffness and soreness that could be prevented with a few simple habits! Here are 4 tips to stay more comfortable on the road:

1️⃣ Support Your Posture
Adjust your seat so your knees are level with your hips and your shoulders can relax against the seat. A small towel roll or lumbar support behind your low back can make a huge difference!

2️⃣ Take Movement Breaks
Try to stop every 1–2 hours to stand, stretch, and walk for a few minutes. Even quick movement helps improve circulation and reduces stiffness.

3️⃣ Stretch Before & After Travel
Gentle stretches for your neck, hips, hamstrings, and calves can help your body tolerate long periods of sitting much better.

4️⃣ Don’t Grip the Wheel Too Tight
Tension in your hands, shoulders, and upper back builds up quickly during long drives. Keep your shoulders relaxed and switch hand positions often.

A little preparation can go a long way toward preventing aches and pains during travel!

Discover the Power of the Neubie at Resolute Physical Therapy

We're proud to offer the Direct Current Neubie Device—an advanced therapy tool designed to help you move better, feel stronger, and recover faster.

One of the unique protocols offered by the Neubie is the Master Reset.

Your autonomic nervous system has two primary branches: the sympathetic ("fight or flight") system and the parasympathetic ("rest, digest, and recover") system. The demands of everyday life can keep our bodies stuck in a heightened state of stress, leading to increased muscle tension, poor sleep, fatigue, and slower recovery.

The Master Reset is designed to help shift your body out of that stressed state. During this relaxing 20–30 minute session, electrodes are placed on your feet and upper neck while you rest comfortably. Using gentle direct current stimulation, the Neubie interacts with the vagus nerve—the main communication pathway of the parasympathetic nervous system.
By stimulating the vagus nerve, the Neubie helps encourage your body to enter a state of rest, repair, and recovery. This can support healthy regulation of breathing, heart rate, digestion, inflammation, and overall nervous system function.

Benefits patients often report include:
• Reduced stress and muscle tension
• Better sleep
• Improved recovery from injury
• Increased relaxation and overall well-being

Think of it as a reboot for your nervous system. Simply lie back, relax, and let the Neubie do the work.

At our Mount Joy clinic, every Neubie session is personalized to your goals, helping you get back to doing the things you love with confidence.

Gardening season is in full-force!

Spending time outside in the garden is a great way to stay active, but bending, lifting, kneeling, and repetitive movements can put extra stress on your body if you’re not careful.

Here are a few tips to help you stay healthy while gardening this summer:

Warm up before you begin
Take 5–10 minutes to walk, stretch, or loosen up your muscles before getting started.

Utilize proper gear
Use supportive shoes, gardening gloves, knee pads, and long-handled tools to reduce strain on your back and joints.

Take breaks and stay hydrated
Avoid staying in one position too long. Stand up, stretch, and drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Stretch when you are done
Gentle stretches for your back, hips, shoulders, and legs can help reduce soreness and stiffness afterward.

A little preparation can go a long way toward preventing aches, pains, and injuries — so you can enjoy your garden all season long!
