On Sunday, November 3, Sophie is taking on the New York City Marathon with Team Reeve to support those living with paralysis and help provide funds for groundbreaking research.

There are 5.4 million Americans — nearly 1 in 50 people — living with some form of paralysis, including my brother Hardie, who broke his C5 and C6 vertebrae in March 2020 at 17 years old. Over the last four years, Hardie has continued to make great progress, with huge help from the wonderful team at Project Walk New Jersey in Mount Laurel, and the support of so many friends and family, the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, and the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.

The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by funding innovative research, and improving the quality of life for people living with paralysis through grants, information and advocacy.

‘It is a pleasure and an honor for me to be racing in November as part of Team Reeve, and hope my fundraising efforts here can help to further the mission and offer the support to other families that my own family has been so grateful to receive.’ -

I would be so appreciative if you would help me reach my goal with a donation, no matter the size. All donations are 100% tax deductible.

Thank you so much for your generosity!

Today marks one year since Hardie started at and two years since his accident. It’s hard to describe how much our lives have changed, and sometimes even harder to capture the little moments of progress that have defined the past year. But we see the progress and are so grateful to all the staff at project walk and all the support of the community, who help us make sure Hardie gets to stay on his .

Ho Ho Ho!! This year Santa gave Hardie this amazing robotic therapy tool to stimulate nerves in his fingers. The robotic glove goes on Hardie’s hand, and his directed by a controller glove. Here Sophie is wearing the controller glove, and her movements generate movement in the robotic glove. The goal is to stimulate nerve responses in Hardie’s fingers over time with this creative and gentle movement therapy.

We love Hardie’s smile as for the first time in two years he sees his hand wide open. Fingers crossed 😉 for progress with this method in the coming months!

Watch as Hardie puts gravity in it’s place! Hardie has been making some real progress at pushing his heels down and working towards locking out his knees. With every passing session, Hardie is getting stronger and we are really excited about this seemingly small achievement. Being able to push down through the legs and lock out the knees will lead to being able to stand and resist gravity, and eventually taking steps independently. Thank you, as ever, for all of your support, love, prayers and good vibes that keep us going hard! And thank you too to Project Walk New Jersey and all your amazing therapists for all they do for our boy and everyone lucky enough to cross your threshold!
