Far too many women go into the stages of menopause not knowing what to expect. And part of it is because we don't talk about it enough. So we're here to talk about it.🗣️

You've probably heard about menopause. But perimenopause? Maybe not so much.

➡️What is perimenopause?
Perimenopause is the transition from regular periods (or menstrual cycles) to menopause (12 months without a period). It can last 2-8 years (yes... years), and can start anywhere between your mid to late 30s and early to mid 50s. Each transition is unique to each person.

➡️What are the symptoms?
Symptoms can be different for everyone – and they usually happen gradually over time. They can include changes in menstrual flow and frequency, hot flashes, mood changes, brain fog, vaginal dryness, or trouble sleeping.

➡️Is there any treatment?
There are treatment options available to help with certain symptoms. They include hormonal options, like hormone replacement therapy (HRT), or lifestyle changes, like being physically active, quitting to***co, or limiting alcohol.

If you're bothered by your symptoms, talk to your health care provider. You can work together to find a treatment that's right for you.

And remember: going through the stages of menopause is not a negative thing. It's just a new stage of your life.🩷
