Today, we said farewell to our summer employee, Dylan! Dylan started shadowing me this past spring through a program at Mt. Vernon High School because of his interest in becoming an optometrist.

It did not take long to realize that this smart, hard-working young man could join our team and be an asset.

In one short day, he learned how to make glasses! That is unheard of!

We wish him all the best as he heads to Texas Tech to begin his education!

The future of optometry is so bright with Dylan! We are all very proud of him and will miss him!

If your glasses or sunglasses are left in the car, the hot sun can damage your lenses and lens coatings leading to peeling which can make your vision blurry through your lenses!

Take good care of your glasses and sunglasses and take them inside!

🚨 Important Eye Drop Recall Alert 🚨

The FDA has announced a nationwide recall of several over-the-counter eye drops due to concerns about possible contamination and lack of sterility. These drops were sold under multiple store brands (like CVS, Walgreens, and other generics).

👁️ What you need to know:
• The recall mainly affects generic artificial tears and redness relief drops
• The issue is related to sterility, which is especially important for anything going into your eyes
• While the risk is low, contaminated drops can potentially lead to eye infections or irritation

✅ What should you do?
• Check your eye drops at home—especially store-brand products. Eight products are being recalled: Dry Eye Relief Eye Drops, Artificial Tears Sterile Lubricant Eye Drops, Sterile Eye Drops Original Formula, Sterile Eye Drops Redness Lubricant, Eye Drops Advanced Relief, Ultra Lubricating Eye Drops, Sterile Eye Drops AC and Sterile Eye Drops Soothing Tears.
• If you’re unsure, it’s safest to stop using them
• Consider switching to trusted name brands or preservative-free options
