Gluttony is one of the hidden sins we have normalized in the church.
And I’m not saying that to shame anyone.
I’m saying it because I lived there. ( still do occasionally)
🍩 The donuts.
🧁 The muffins.
🍽️ The potlucks.
😅 The constant “just enjoy yourself.”
🥴 The using food to comfort, numb, celebrate, cope, reward, and escape.
And somewhere along the way, we stopped asking:
“Is this helping me honor God with my body?”
1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
❌️That means food is not separate from discipleship.
❌️Your body is not separate from worship.
❌️Your health is not separate from stewardship.
The enemy would love for believers to stay sick, tired, inflamed, addicted, overweight, ashamed, and distracted.
Because when you feel trapped in your body, it becomes harder to walk boldly in what God has called you to do.
🙌 But in Jesus, there is freedom.
Not just freedom from obvious sin.
✅ Freedom from food controlling you.
✅ Freedom from sugar running your day.
✅ Freedom from using food to numb what God wants to heal.
✅ Freedom from treating your body like it does not matter.
Food was given to nourish the body.
❌ Not replace God.
❌ Not numb pain.
❌ Not become an idol.
❌ Not keep you enslaved.
And no, this is not about perfection.
🙏 This is about stewardship.
This is about learning to eat, move, rest, and live like your body actually belongs to the Lord.
I'm posting this to REMIND you, and Me.
Accountability to OURSELVES and to one another as Christ followers, is needed now in our society more than ever. Accountability to the LORD is part of Loving Him. He sacrificed everything for you and I on that cross ✝️ on Calvary. Our Enternity in Heaven with Him is priceless. These bodies of ours, were made in God's image and we have a responsibility to Him above all, and ourselves to care for them.
