🌟 SHOUT-OUT SATURDAY! 🌟

This is your opportunity to shine a little light on someone who has been instrumental in your career, education, growth, or simply getting you to where you are today.

Maybe it was a mentor who saw something in you before you saw it yourself.

Maybe it was the person who listened when you needed to vent after one of those days.

Maybe it was the classmate who had your back and somehow helped you survive quantitative analysis, A&P, or that one course you were convinced might actually be the end of you. 😅

Or maybe it was the best friend, spouse, coworker, professor, supervisor, or family member who looked at you when you were completely frazzled and said, “You need a break.”

Sometimes the people who help us grow aren't the ones standing on the stage with us when we reach the finish line. They're the ones who encouraged us, challenged us, listened to us, believed in us, and occasionally reminded us to step away from the laptop and eat something.

💙 So today, let your superstar in the corner shine.

Tag them. Drop their name in the comments. Share a story about what they did for you. Tell us how they helped you grow.

Most importantly, thank them.

Who deserves your Shout-Out Saturday? 👇🌟

❤️ Minute Monday: Small Steps Support a Healthier Heart

Supporting your heart health does not always require a complete lifestyle overhaul. Small, consistent choices can make a meaningful difference over time:

• Add a little more movement to your day.
• Choose heart-supportive foods when possible.
• Protect your sleep and make time to manage stress.
• Avoid to***co and ni****ne.
• Know your blood pressure and attend routine checkups.

You do not have to change everything at once. What is one small step you can take this week to care for your heart?

Covenant Care Ministries provides educational information and does not replace guidance from your physician or other qualified healthcare professional.

☀️ Sunday Morning Reflection

In a world that constantly asks us to keep moving, Sunday offers an opportunity to pause.

Stepping away from the noise and busyness of life—even for a little while—allows our minds to settle, our bodies to rest, and our spirits to be renewed.

Rest is not wasted time. It is part of caring for our whole selves. It helps restore the strength, patience, and clarity we need for the days ahead.

Today, give yourself permission to slow down. Set aside what can wait, breathe deeply, and make room for the peace and renewal your heart, mind, and body need.

May this Sunday bring rest to your body, calm to your mind, and renewed hope to your spirit. 💙

☀️ Sunday Wellness Reflection

Rest is an important part of health, but it is often the first thing sacrificed when life becomes overwhelming.

Patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and families may all experience periods of physical and emotional exhaustion—especially while managing illness, appointments, insurance concerns, work, and everyday responsibilities.

Rest cannot solve every healthcare challenge, but it can help restore the energy and clarity needed to face the next step.

This Sunday, consider giving yourself permission to pause without feeling guilty. Caring for yourself is part of caring for your health.

Community Health Workers are helping transform healthcare by connecting patients to the resources and support they need to live healthier lives.

At Ascension Saint Thomas, CHWs serve as trusted partners who bridge the gap between clinical care and essential daily needs. In addition to helping patients navigate medical visits, receive vaccinations, and manage chronic conditions like hypertension and diabetes, CHWs directly address the broader barriers that affect overall well-being. By assisting with transportation, food access, housing and utility support, and financial assistance, CHWs meet people where they are and strengthen the connection between healthcare and the communities we serve.

We are grateful for the support of TennCare and the Tennessee Department of Health in helping us expand this workforce and increase access to care for patients across Middle Tennessee.

Healthcare Tip of the Week

Did you know that having health insurance doesn't always mean healthcare is affordable or easy to access?

Many people are considered underinsured, meaning they have insurance but still struggle to afford deductibles, copays, medications, or other out-of-pocket costs. Others delay or skip care because they aren't sure what their insurance covers.

Understanding your health insurance is one of the most important steps you can take to protect your health and your finances.

At Covenant Care Ministries, we believe that knowledge empowers people to make informed healthcare decisions with confidence.

💙 An Update from Covenant Care Ministries

What began as a vision to help individuals and families better understand and navigate healthcare is steadily becoming something much more tangible.

Since our last update, Covenant Care Ministries has continued building the foundation needed to support meaningful, responsible, and evidence-informed work within our communities.

Behind the scenes, we have been:

• Developing our healthcare research and knowledge repository
• Building educational articles, resources, and future courses
• Designing assessment tools to better understand the barriers patients and families face
• Mapping future advocacy and healthcare navigation pathways
• Strengthening our research, program evaluation, and data systems
• Continuing development of our website and digital platforms
• Exploring programs focused on health and insurance literacy, access to care, financial barriers, chronic illness, caregiver support, and community resource navigation

This work has also helped us see just how interconnected healthcare challenges really are. Understanding an insurance plan is important, but it is only one part of the journey. Transportation, finances, prescription access, caregiving responsibilities, technology, housing, communication, and the ability to find trustworthy information can all affect whether someone receives the care they need.

That is why we are taking the time to build Covenant Care Ministries thoughtfully. We do not want to create isolated resources that address only one small piece of the problem. We are working toward a connected system of education, research, advocacy, and navigation support that recognizes the whole person and the real-life circumstances surrounding their care.

Covenant Care Ministries remains in its research and development phase, and our full services have not yet launched. However, the vision is becoming clearer, the foundation is becoming stronger, and we are making meaningful progress every day.

Our commitment to Southeast Kansas remains at the heart of this work. We look forward to beginning within our local communities, learning directly from the people we hope to serve, and building programs that respond to genuine needs rather than assumptions.

There is still much work ahead, but we are excited about where this journey is leading.

Thank you to everyone who continues to follow, encourage, share, and believe in the mission of Covenant Care Ministries. You are helping us build something created not only for the community, but eventually alongside the community.

We continue to believe that no one should have to face the healthcare system alone.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
