I am incredibly proud of what Sacred Medicine Sisterhood became, and profoundly grateful to every woman who trusted this community enough to show up.

To participate.
To share her story.
To sit in circle.
To bring her gifts.
To attend an offering.
Or simply to be part of the wider community.

You helped create this.

The friendships, conversations, tears, laughter, rituals, teachings, gatherings, and moments of recognition cannot be dissolved with an LLC.

They belong to the women who lived them.

And they belong to the stories we carry forward.

As for me, I am choosing to trust the next chapter rather than trying to preserve the last one.

The LLC will be formally dissolved, and Sacred Medicine Sisterhood will no longer operate as an organization.

There may be pieces of this work that continue through other expressions, other relationships, and other forms of community. But I don't want to promise a specific future before I know what that future is.

For now, I simply want to say:

Thank you.

Thank you for believing in this work.
Thank you for allowing me to witness you.
Thank you for every circle, every conversation, every brave disclosure, every belly laugh, every tear, every moment of sisterhood.

And thank you for allowing Sacred Medicine Sisterhood to be what it needed to be for the time that it existed.

Everything has a season.

This season is ending, and I am choosing to meet that ending with gratitude rather than grief alone.

May we honor what was.
May we release what is complete.
And may we remain curious about what wants to be born next.

A Closing, not an ending.

With a lot of love, reflection, and some difficult conversations, we have made the decision to dissolve the Sacred Medicine Sisterhood LLC.

This is not because the vision wasn't beautiful. It is because trying to carry that vision in the way we were attempting to build it became unsustainable.

Rae is stepping away from the business side of Sacred Medicine Sisterhood to focus on her own well-being, stability, healing, and growth. The stress and responsibility of trying to build and sustain a growing vision took a much greater toll than we ever anticipated.

Even after holding a fundraiser to help cover the operational costs of Wild Woman Weekend, Rae continued to personally absorb hundreds of dollars in expenses in less than six months. This happened during a time when she was already fighting to keep her home, navigating profound personal challenges, and doing the work of healing.

That simply isn't sustainable.

And sometimes the most loving thing we can do for something we believe in is to stop forcing it to grow before we have the capacity to hold it.

So this is not necessarily goodbye.

Rae will still teach workshops, vend, gather, create, and share her medicine when and if she has the time, energy, and desire to do so. But moving forward, those offerings will come from choice rather than obligation.

There will be no pressure to make it happen. No expectation to keep pouring from an empty cup.

For now, Rae is choosing to tend to the cup itself.

To rest.
To rebuild.
To find stability.
To heal.
To grow.

And perhaps, someday, when that cup is overflowing again, there will be something new to pour.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who believed in Sacred Medicine Sisterhood, supported our events, shared our vision, showed up, donated, collaborated, or simply cheered us on.

The LLC may be dissolving, but the connections, lessons, friendships, magic, and seeds planted along the way do not disappear.

Admin V and Admin E-Lo here. We want to talk about the Lindsay Clancy trial. We both hate the prosecution and think they are lying to the jury and distorting the facts.

When you hear about a case in which a mother killed her three kids and threw herself out of a second-story window, paralyzing her, is your first reaction that she’s evil OR that she must be seriously unwell? Admin V and Admin E-Lo have thoughts.

Admin E-Lo can identify a LOT with Lindsay, as she also stayed home to raise small children and understand the stress that it causes. She’s completely and utterly enraged that the prosecution is portraying Lindsay as a selfish, unhappy woman who resented her children. Their evidence? Her posts on mothers’ support group sites. BU****IT. It is completely normal to vent in those venues and is in no way indicative that someone is going to hurt their kids. That’s what makes most women’s experiences different than Lindsay’s. We all have portrayed that we’re better mentally than we actually are. We want to be okay so we portray that. We are told we are supposed to be happy and when we’re not, we struggle with what to say, with how to cope. But we don’t hurt our kids, normally.

Admin V is not a mom, but she has watched close friends struggle with things very similar to what Lindsay struggled with. Like disturbingly similar. I have given friends keys to my house so they can sleep in silence. I have gone and sat with the baby while friends got to take showers. I sat and talked with them about things other than the baby. I have brought food and been the village that I could be. Motherhood can disconnect you from the world around you and it is not easy and we’re stupid to pretend it is.

Prosecutor Shanan Buckingham stated in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial “This is not a public debate about women's mental health and how the medical system treats women.” YES, IT FU***NG IS. It’s also about how the criminal justice system treats women who have experienced a psychotic break, for lack of a better term. If you’re even bringing up the public debates about women’s mental health, then maybe you shouldn’t be prosecuting this case. That’s 100% what this is about.

Lindsay asked for help. She asked for it from her husband. She asked for it from the medical establishment. She asked for it from friends and family. She told everyone what was happening in her brain. And they all threw medication at it. They pretended it wasn’t serious. And they all let her white knuckle her way through it alone. People do not understand how much pressure is on a new mother, especially one who has left a job, is trying to return to it, and has older children. They are expected to figure their s**t out and not just get by, but thrive in that scenario. You have a beautiful baby–aren’t you happy? Consider how unhelpful many partners/fathers of children can be even before the baby comes. Many of you moms know what we are talking about.

Raise your hand if you remember Andrea Yates. Andrea and Rusty Yates were the parents to four children in Texas. They were fundamentalist quiverfull Christians who were going to have as many children as God ordained. Andrea started having trouble after her second child. After her third child, her OB told her not to have any more children due to her mental health. Rusty convinced her to have another one. Then the voices started telling her to kill her children and she listened. She was convicted of murder. They overturned her conviction because it was clearly a mental health break. She is in a secure mental health facility and she doesn’t want to get out. She knows she is where she belongs.

When I, Admin V, heard about this case, I knew it was Andrea Yates 2.0 and I hoped that the prosecution would show mercy. They haven’t done that at all. They are insisting that this was intentional and that her su***de was faked despite all evidence to the contrary. Lindsay crushed up pills and took them. She cut her wrists and her throat. She jumped out of a window. When the paramedics came, she had to be revived. She is paralyzed. That is doing a lot for a fake su***de attempt.

I watch a lot of tik toks. The prosecution brought up her stay in a mental health ward over a holiday weekend. If you were to believe the prosecution, she had access to group therapy and one on one counseling all weekend. A former employee who worked in that ward, went through each of the points made by the prosecution and told us what they really meant. It wasn’t actual mental health help. It was keeping her safe while she was there so she couldn’t harm herself. There are a lot of people who hate her husband Patrick on the internet because he was going ski-ing and brunching with the boys while Lindsay suffered. I don’t know what was going on with him, but he, as a man, probably didn’t spend a lot of time talking with people who have had postpartum psychosis. To him, she just had the baby blues or whatever. And she didn’t have a plan to harm herself so it was going to be fine.

The thing is, it wasn’t fine. Admin E-Lo and Admin V both think that we need to take this more seriously than we do. Once a mom starts expressing thoughts of self-harm. She cannot be left alone with her children until they can figure out what is wrong and she stabilizes. And people need to know this and they just don’t. Patrick Clancy was no different than Rusty Yates. Neither of them could envision a mother who adored their kids ending their lives. And they thought it will be fine to leave them alone for an hour or so, but again, it wasn’t fine. She felt pressure to be okay and lied that she was.

This is a call to action for our regular readers. We need to bring focus on women’s health issues including postpartum psychosis. Men NEED to know about this as much as women. We understand that often men can think they’re being supportive, but you also need to get a woman what they need, not what you think they need. We don’t want an Andrea Yates 3.0. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Unfortunately no one is getting the health care, especially mental health care, that they need now. We need to push hard on these issues and help each other where we can.
