I am a non-profit organization and rely on help by good animal loving people like you. Welcome to our page where we are dedicated to saving and caring for feral felines in our community through the power of education and the practice of TNR. My name is Rusti, and I have built a little bit of kitty heaven. I am dedicated to saving as many ferals as I can and am passionate about educating others on

how to combat the astronomical numbers of feral cats world wide ! I release most ferals I trap but will keep all kittens, pregnant mommas and sick or injured kits. The kits I have at my facility now are ones that never left once released or have a lower survival rate in the swamp, so I have integrated them into my existing colony. It's hard work and it's not cheap, but I do what I can with what I've got. AFTER THE STORM! You’ll have to forgive me for sniffling because I was hot, and my nose was running. But this is a video of the next morning after two nights of crazy storms! If you saw my other reels, you will know what we went through. Thankfully, the water is receding nicely, but we still have our challenges and areas that are still underwater! The challenges of running a animal rescue facility and the swamp never end.

This picture was taken in 2018. I don't remember what I was laughing at, but I am surrounded by Greyson, Tippy & TuggerBum and Dingus in the cat bed. Dingus is the lone survivor of this group. I am happy to have this memory of such amazing felines that have graced me with their company and love.

MY ANXIETY LEVELS PEAK WHEN IT COMES TO STORMS AND THE SAFETY OF MY KITS! Yes, we have multiple enclosures, but so many of the kitties refused to come up to the deck and lanai area where it’s safer and dryer. They have plenty of bunkers and spaces to hide, but I still get nervous when we get storms like this! Welcome to the swamp!

THE AFTERMATH! If you saw our video last night of the torrential reigns, then you will understand this outcome. Living in the swamp has its challenges, indeed! I am now dealing with alligators, water, moccasins, and floating fire ant mounds! Thankfully, after years of dealing with this, we have built the enclosures above ground level so they stay high and dry. Stay tuned for more swamp situations!

One of the Soprano clan, Dakota is more mild tempered than her siblings. She never goes outside and has a habit of raiding my closet. She will snag any cloth or cotton material and drag it around the house while making a very pleasing cry for attention.... like 'look at what I found ' ! She also has a favorite sleeping spot, which is on top of the cat statue you can see underneath her. :) 😼

WELCOME TO THE SWAMP! We are in rainy season and expect downpours and flooding like this in the swamp. It is the main reason we built our enclosures the way we have and have kept them elevated and raised above ground level to keep the kitties safe and dry. Here at the Empty Meow Corral, safety is priority. The swamp has many things that can be challenging. More videos coming. Stay tuned! 😳
