Seeing firsthand that a condition long considered progressive could be brought into a state of normalcy through nutrition alone sparked her dedication to learning more and she then dove into the research. Driven by this transformative experience, Deidre earned her certification in ketogenic nutrition in 2024. Since then, she has become a strong advocate for empowering individuals with education about metabolic health, nutritional interventions, and sustainable lifestyle change. Although she values the skills and experiences she has gained in the hospital setting, Deidre also recognized the moral injury that can arise within traditional healthcare systems—especially when treatments may not align with the most current research on diet, medications, or interventions for healing. In 2025, Deidre completed her Master of Science in Nursing. After which, she made the intentional decision to not pursue her original goal of Family Nurse Practitioner and instead followed a path more aligned with her growing passion: functional medicine. THE SILENT HORMONE NOBODY TALKS ABOUT ⭐

Most people think insulin is only a “diabetes thing.” 🤔

But what if I told you that high insulin can quietly affect the body for MANY YEARS before blood sugar even becomes abnormal?During those silent years… your body is struggling.

✨ What is insulin?
Insulin is a hormone made by the pancreas. Its job is to move glucose (sugar) from your bloodstream into your cells to be used as energy. It is also your fat storage hormone, telling your body to store fat.

But modern lifestyles often keep insulin elevated ALL the time:
👉A high carb diet
👉 constant snacking
👉 sugary drinks & food
👉 ultra processed foods
👉 poor sleep
👉 chronic stress
👉 sitting too much
👉 inflammation
👉 hormonal imbalances

Over time the cells stop responding properly to insulin. This is called INSULIN RESISTANCE.

So what happens next?

👉 Your pancreas makes MORE insulin trying to force sugar into the cells... And just continues to circulate...

TIPS FOR REAL METABOLIC HEALTH...

The absolute best way is to eat a well-formulated Ketogenic Diet. This way of eating has been used medically over 120 years in children with epilepsy and was historically used for diabetes before insulin.
Stay away from eating disorders and you don't need to push for hours in the gym everyday.

When you are in ketosis your body eats its own fat, it just melts off.
SO MANY health related things can improve on this way of eating like BP and glucose levels, fluid overload, heart function, kidney function, brain health... Just to name a few.

I promise, this isn't your typical "diet", it's effective and it actually works.
I lost 60 lbs pounds of fat, improved my cholesterol, depression healed, my GERD went away, and so did the prediabetes. I practice what I teach and hardly get sick now, which is a plus. My husband was off his diabetic meds in just 6 days and his A1C went from 12.7 to 5.9 in only 3 months. It works!
