⭐ INSULIN:
THE SILENT HORMONE NOBODY TALKS ABOUT ⭐
Most people think insulin is only a “diabetes thing.” 🤔
But what if I told you that high insulin can quietly affect the body for MANY YEARS before blood sugar even becomes abnormal?During those silent years… your body is struggling.
✨ What is insulin?
Insulin is a hormone made by the pancreas. Its job is to move glucose (sugar) from your bloodstream into your cells to be used as energy. It is also your fat storage hormone, telling your body to store fat.
But modern lifestyles often keep insulin elevated ALL the time:
👉A high carb diet
👉 constant snacking
👉 sugary drinks & food
👉 ultra processed foods
👉 poor sleep
👉 chronic stress
👉 sitting too much
👉 inflammation
👉 hormonal imbalances
Over time the cells stop responding properly to insulin. This is called INSULIN RESISTANCE.
So what happens next?
👉 Your pancreas makes MORE insulin trying to force sugar into the cells... And just continues to circulate...
👉 Blood sugar may still look “normal.”
👉 But insulin itself keeps climbing quietly in the background.
And this is why high insulin hides away for YEARS. 😬
Think of it like an iceberg:
What you SEE:
• “Normal” blood sugar
• Feeling mostly okay
• Normal lab tests
What is ACTUALLY happening underneath:
⚠️ inflammation rises
⚠️ fat storage increases
⚠️ hormones become disrupted (including testosterone in men)
⚠️ the liver becomes stressed & fatty
⚠️ cells become resistant
⚠️ mitochondrial energy drops
⚠️ disease risk slowly increases
And more.....
The body is incredibly clever at compensating… until one day it just can’t do it anymore.
⏰ SIGNS HIGH INSULIN MAY ALREADY BE AFFECTING YOU:
• Puffy face or fluid retention
• Belly fat that won’t budge
• Constant bloating
• Sugar or carb cravings
• Afternoon crashes
• Reactive hypoglycemia
• Brain fog
• Mood swings
• Fatigue
• PMOS (PCOS) symptoms
• Acne or darkened skin folds
• Difficulty losing weight despite diet & exercise
• Waking up tired
• Increased hunger shortly after meals
And here’s the scary part…
High insulin doesn’t just affect weight. 😞
🧠 BRAIN:
Can contribute to brain fog, poor focus, dopamine dysregulation and cravings.
🫀 HEART:
Raises inflammation, triglycerides and long-term cardiovascular risk.
😡 HORMONES:
High insulin can disrupt estrogen, progesterone, testosterone and ovulation — which is why it’s strongly linked to PCOS and hormonal imbalance.
🧈 FAT STORAGE:
Insulin is a STORAGE hormone. Chronically high levels tell the body:
“Store fat. Don’t burn it.” Locking you out of fat loss.
🍷 LIVER:
Excess insulin is closely linked to fatty liver disease and impaired detoxification pathways... If not reversed fatty liver can lead to cirrhosis. If you have an expanded waistline, you likely have a fatty liver.
⚡ ENERGY:
Cells stop responding efficiently, leaving people exhausted even when resting and eating enough.
🔥 INFLAMMATION:
High insulin promotes chronic low-grade inflammation throughout the body. Aches and pains all the time.
🌸 POOR GUT HEALTH
Bloating, dysbiosis, leaky gut... This can lead to systemic issues including autoimmune disorders, and impaired immune system.
And often…
people blame themselves. 😔
But this is not simply about “lack of willpower.”
This is biology.
This is hormones.
This is metabolic stress.
SO WHAT'S THE
GOOD NEWS?
The body can heal beautifully when given consistent support.
Small daily changes can lower insulin sensitivity over time:
🥗 WELL FORMULATED KETOGENIC NUTRITION is the top priority, if you can keep your glucose down the circulating insulin will deplete, and insulin resistance will be able to heal.
🏋🏻 strength training
🚶🏼 daily movement
💧 proper hydration
😴 quality sleep
🧘🏼 stress regulation
🍓 Removing ultra processed foods & seed oils
☀️ morning sunlight exposure
🩷 consistency over perfection

And please remember this:
Just because your blood sugar is “normal” does NOT always mean your insulin is healthy!!!!
Sometimes the body whispers for years before it finally screams. 🌷
