This is the perfect time of year to plant perennials! I’ll have many medicinal herbs including: stinging nettle, marshmallow, motherwort, gotu kola, brahmi, ashwaganda, valerian, etc.

And CA Native medicinals: white sage, yarrow, woolly rose mallow, hummingbird sage, CA mugwort

And, saffron corms. This is thee time of year to plant them, and because they are fall blooming, you’ll have saffron to harvest by *this* Oct/Nov

We're having a party, and you're invited!

With Rose-Ellyn Birdsong Stuart getting ourselves together for Berkeley Herbal Center Community Health Day. I’ll have white sage, helichrysum, temperate tulsi, Krishna tulsi and lots more! Pretty sure the hilarious faces in the last 2 pics reflect the heat, definitely not our love for plant medicine.

“The primary native species in California is the Blue Elderberry.

Attractive, hardy, and easy to grow, the Blue Elderberry is also an important food source for California wildlife. In spring, large clusters of cream-colored flowers attract butterflies and bees. The abundant blue berries provide food for birds and other animals. Humans can eat the fruit as long as it’s cooked.” —CalScape
