Farewell visit with Pedro opened up a networking connection with 7th and 8th gen (counting the little guy, who stole the show) Royal olive growers from Cazorla.

Alexandra and her family are carrying on the tradition of curating these distinctive olives 🫒, and producing premium first day of harvest oil for the local market. Every bottle's label features poetry written by her abuela Rosario. 💚

Informational and educational private tour with the export manager Oscar (facilitated by our incredible guide, Marta, who provided interpretation of both language and culture). Hacienda la Laguna is a fairly new mill, but built with a nod to the cortijo / farmhouse history and influence. Their Picual and Arbequina oils are delicious, and beautiful!

Today's blend of history with modern evoo production was truly inspiring. Began our day at Juan Colin and finished at Nuñez de Prado. We were inspired to see the old ways of pressing oil, developed now into contemporary practices. Thank you for welcoming us to your almazaras.

What an impressive co-operative mill and bottling plant we visited today in Bailen. brings together the talents and passion of 1000 area farmers who grow olives in the Jaen valley. Thank you to Pilar who curated a complete experience for us. We sure do 💕 the Picual 🫒!
