Welcome Manfred, the German Shepherd, to our 3-week Board and Train program! German Shepherds are incredibly intelligent, driven, and eager to learn, but their natural instincts can sometimes manifest as unwanted mouthiness or biting, which is mainly why he is here🫣Over the next three weeks, we will be taking an educational approach to help Manfred understand how to channel his focus and energy appropriately.
We will evaluate whether Manfred’s biting is driven by overarousal, herding instincts, or boundary-testing, allowing us to address the exact trigger.
Teaching Manfred to default to calm behaviors, such as a structured “place” command, before receiving attention or rewards. It all starts with clear Communication: Establishing a reliable foundation of obedience commands to build his confidence and strengthen his focus on his handler. We are excited to guide Manfred through this learning process and equip his owners with the tools they need for long-term success at home. Follow along to watch his structured progress over the next 21 days!
