Isaiah 43:18-21 ~ "Thus says the Lord your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel... 'Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert. The beasts of the field will glorify Me, the jackals and the ostriches, because I have given waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My chosen people. The people whom I formed for Myself will declare My praise.' "

15 years ago, this morning, I sat in a Biology classroom at Murphy High School, our school in lockdown, terrified eyes glued to a television screen, helplessly watching two towers crumble...it seemed as though every person from sea to shining sea was holding their breath...

1 year and 2 months ago (approximately), this morning, I lay unconscious in a operating room at Ochsner Medical Center, the waiting room brimming and bustling with nerve-shattered people, awaiting a single word...it seemed as though all of our friends and family were holding their breath...

This morning, I experienced a HUMBLING, CRUSHING, JOY-FULL, AUTHENTIC ENCOUNTER with Christ Jesus at Calvary Baptist Church. The room seemed to tremble in HIS presence. I did not want this moment to end, and I held my breath...

James 1:2 - 4 ~ "Consider it all JOY, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, KNOWING that the testing of your faith produces ENDURANCE. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."

I fall on my face before Abba - Daddy, Father God, for His testing of my faith, so that I would learn ENDURANCE. For, "not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH HIM WHO STRENGTHENS ME. Nevertheless, you have done well to share with me in my affliction." ~ Philippians 4:11 - 14.

I LOVE my Calvary Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Eagles FAMILY!!! This is truly an experience that leaves me broken with humility and honor. I am in awe of the Lord as HIS story continues to unfold through this .

Some of our students at CBS lead worship during their weekly chapel time. This past week they had the chance to learn from a worship leader. This is an example of why we love our school and church!

To my precious FB family and friends - I have an URGENT REQUEST FOR PRAYER on behalf of my friend, Kimberly M. Patten.

I was introduced to Kimberly through her aunt and uncle, Peggy and Eddie Bates. Bro. Eddie is the pastor who married Khristian and I, and was our pastor at Citronelle Memorial Baptist Church for a number of years.

Kimberly was diagnosed with Gitelman Syndrome (a very rare medical condition), and has been in the midst of a daily, exhausting battle. She has been regularly in and out of the hospital, and most recently has been struggling with a fever and just feeling horrible - the source of which has been a mystery.

PRAISE THE LORD!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!! Kimberly has improved considerably, and will be following up with a doctor at Ochsner Main Campus tomorrow. Please, please, please pause and lift a prayer for this fierce warrior of Christ and for her family. Please feel free to share any prayers or words of encouragement and strength in the comments section below. Let's storm the gates of heaven on behalf of Kimberly!!!

"Gitelman Syndrome is an autosomal recessive kidney disorder characterized by hypokalemic metabolic alkalosis with hypocalciuria, and hypomagnesemia. It is caused by loss of function mutations of the thiazide sensitive sodium-chloride symporter (also known as NCC, NCCT, or TSC) located in the distal convoluted tubule."

Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

These verses come to mind when things just don't seem to make sense. There are times we try to figure things out, only to realize we aren't the ones who hold the answer. Today was a day of many questions and as of yet little answers. However, WE trust in the LORD and know that HE will direct our steps!

Carly woke up this am feeling rather miserable. She had been experiencing some cold like symptoms, however today it was worse. She noticed that her face was puffy and she had gone all night without having to use the restroom. This meant she was retaining fluid. This is a big NO-NO! Carly gained 4lbs in less than 24 hours. She notified her coordinator and they sent her to the ER to determine the cause of the problem.

The Lord has indeed shown HIS faithfulness as Carly's mom was still here and was able to take her to the ER. The ER was awaiting her arrival and within 30 minutes, Carly was already hooked up to IV's , had blood work drawn, and a chest x-ray done.

Since being in the hospital, Carly's fluid output has increased and this is a great sign. They have decided to admit her into the hospital to ensure her output continues to go in the right direction. They also want her swelling to go away before she goes anywhere!

Please pray for healing, peace and most of all for Christ to be exalted. HIS presence has been so evident in so many ways, and we TRUST HIS hand as we await HIS leading along this journey!
