Atlanta fam đź’ś

I recently broke my leg, and as much as I wanted to push through and still attend a Broadway show, I’m choosing to listen to my body instead of forcing it. Healing is asking me to slow down—and I’m honoring that.

Rather than let this ticket go unused, I want to turn this moment into community care.

I’m raffling off my Broadway ticket to Hell’s Kitchen at the Fox Theatre to an Atlanta-based mom or a Black or Brown professional who could really use a few uninterrupted hours to breathe, rest, and receive joy.

🎭 Show details:
📍 Fox Theatre (Atlanta)
đź—“ Saturday, January 10
⏰ 2:00 PM
🎟 Orchestra seat

✨ How to enter:
• Follow me on all my social media platforms
• Like this post
• Comment and share why this moment of rest or joy would matter to you
• (Optional) Tag someone who deserves a pause

I’ll choose someone TONIGHT so they have time to plan for tomorrow.

This is me practicing what I teach: rest is not a reward—it’s a right.
Let’s keep choosing care, together 🤍

✨ Back to You: Rest, Reset & Rooted Growth for Q4 ✨
As we enter the last quarter of 2025, many of us feel the pressure to sprint toward the finish line — chasing deadlines, carrying family responsibilities, and trying to tie up the year’s loose ends.
But here’s the truth: exhaustion is not the only way forward.
You deserve to finish strong and stay soft. 🌿
In this month’s Revived Soul Wellness newsletter, I share:
🌬️ Somatic strategies to notice your body’s signals before saying yes when you mean no
🧠 CBT tools to reframe the fear of disappointing others when holding boundaries
đź’¬ DBT skills (like DEAR MAN & STOP) to communicate your needs with clarity and confidence
📝 Journal prompts to help you realign your energy before the year ends
🎶 A soulful playlist to keep you grounded through Q4
This season, let’s redefine success as rootedness, rest, and alignment — not depletion.

✨ Labor Day: More Than a Day Off ✨

Labor Day was born out of struggle, out of workers demanding dignity, fair pay, and humane working conditions in the late 1800s. It wasn’t a gift from corporations or government leaders; it was won through protest, organizing, and sacrifice, often led by Black, immigrant, and working-class communities whose labor has always been undervalued yet essential.

From 12-hour shifts to unsafe conditions, people risked everything so future generations could experience what we now call “the weekend.” Yet today, many of us especially BIPOC professionals and first-gen workers are still navigating workplaces where burnout, inequitable pay, and lack of psychological safety echo those old battles in new forms.

🔎 Psychoeducation moment: Burnout is not simply an individual “resilience” issue—it’s an occupational hazard tied to systemic exploitation. Labor Day reminds us that healing requires both rest and collective advocacy for justice in our workplaces.

đź’ˇ Liberation reframe:
Labor Day calls us not just to rest, but to reimagine labor itself:
Rest as resistance.
Boundaries as a birthright.
Dignity as non-negotiable.
Joy as essential, not optional.

This weekend, let’s honor our ancestors and organizers by asking: What would it mean to design workplaces rooted in equity, care, and belonging—not extraction?

✨ Liberation means we don’t just clock in and out! We co-create spaces where every worker’s humanity is valued.

🌱 At Revived Soul Wellness, we believe where justice meets joy, healing becomes power. May this Labor Day be not only a day off, but a day of reflection on how we transform labor into liberation.

✨ To the eldest daughter who always held it down… this one’s for you.

Perfectionism. People-pleasing. Being the “strong one.”
These traits helped many of us—especially Black and Brown eldest daughters—survive, achieve, and lead.

But at what cost?

In my latest blog for Revived Soul Wellness, I share my personal story as a high-achieving first-born who learned how to carry everything except myself.
🖤 How perfectionism helped me climb—but made it hard to receive love
🖤 How I ignored my body’s signals in the name of productivity
🖤 How I’m now choosing wellness, softness, and liberation as daily practices

This May, during Mental Health Awareness Month, I’m writing a love letter to all the first daughters who were taught to be everything for everyone—and inviting us to lay it down.

You don’t have to earn your rest.
You don’t have to apologize for needing care.
You deserve to be held, too.

🌀 Let’s unlearn survival. Let’s reclaim wellness.

This Earth Day, I’m reflecting on how healing ourselves and healing our planet are deeply interconnected.

When systems of oppression disconnect us from our bodies, our communities, and the land—we forget that we are nature.
We forget that rest is resistance. That tending to our nervous systems is a form of protest. That environmental justice is racial justice.

At Revived Soul Wellness, we honor the earth not just in theory—but in practice:
By slowing down.
By reclaiming our breath.
By choosing liberation over grind culture.
By remembering that sustainability starts with how we treat ourselves and one another.

So today, I invite you to take a moment to ground yourself:
Place your feet on the earth.
Inhale the air without rushing.
Offer gratitude to the land you’re on—and acknowledge its original stewards.

We cannot liberate ourselves without also liberating the land.
And we cannot protect the planet without centering those most impacted by environmental harm—Black, Indigenous, and communities of color.

How are you tending to the Earth and to your own inner ecosystem today?
Let’s build a future where justice and joy are non-negotiable—for all beings.
