You can’t solve an overloaded nervous system with the same active thinking layer that overloaded it in the first place.
When my father was going through his cancer journey, and my professional ecosystem was completely dismantling after 15 years, no amount of "intellectual understanding" could have stabilized me. What sustained me was a direct and embodied experience of the layer of Being.

A vertical relationship is a relationship with the Self. We are well acquainted with the active thinking layer of ourselves; we also want to pay regular visits to that deeper calm layer within us, the layer that is full of potential, the layer of inner contentment.

Horizontal relationships are the ones we have with any one or any thing outside of that, family, friends, things, the environment around us, situations, etc.

The social conditioning has been informing us that if you have wonderful horizontal relationships (Eg family or career), you will be happy and you will be fulfilled! It is actually the other way around. Vertical relationship is where you charge yourself and saturate yourself with adaptive energy, creativity, and fulfillment. Horizontal relationships are the outlets for you to deliver all that you soak up.

From the moment you sit in a chair and have the intention to pick up the mantra, the rest is automatic. The key is about letting go of control and not getting in the way.

The mind will automatically follow the vibratory quality of the sound or the mantra and get settled.
⭐️
As the mind settles, the body follows and gets de-excited and obtains deep rest.
⭐️
And when body is at rest, it automatically, again, releases the accumulated stresses.
⭐️
Overtime, with regular practice, twice a day, that is when true liberation takes place. Your behaviors will no longer be governed by the past experiences and events, and instead, you will know exactly what the most relevant action is needed for that moment.

I am dedicating the launch of my Vedic Meditation teaching website to my dad, Lenny. He dropped his body three years ago at this time. This picture was taken from my last birthday that I got to celebrate with him, which was a year prior to that. We were doing a competition of who can keep the eyes open and not blinking the longer.
❤️
In addition to being silly with me, his most admirable quality was his studentship. He was a student of life and never stopped learning. I found out later that he was having discussions on quantum physics with his church friends during his last days at the age of 79. He will forever be the inspiration for me to become a teacher and share what I treasure.
