Last class for students at IS 229 = no-bake banana date bites!
These looked seriously professional. Students topped them with ground walnuts, coconut, and chocolate — and the vote for favorite was very close 😋— yum! Thank you, Chef Rebecca!

Middle school students at IS 229 learned how to make their third plant-based recipe in less than two weeks—this time by preparing Chef Rebecca’s Veggie Stir Fry with Tofu and Herbed Lemon Rice!

It’s never too early to learn how to put together a delicious meal from scratch. This recipe pops with bold flavors and fresh ingredients, including ginger, garlic, parsley, tamari, red pepper flakes, and sesame seeds—the students loved every bite.

Bronx Eats builds confidence in the kitchen while expanding palates and increasing familiarity with fruits, vegetables, and plant-based proteins. We are shaping the eating habits of the future!

Chef Rebecca explained to these middle schoolers how plants have protein too — and beans are a powerhouse source!

Some students started out skeptical… but by the time the tastings were served, they were coming back for seconds and thirds. That’s what we call culinary success!

Go IS 229 students! We will be back next week for more culinary adventures!

Chef Aifra brought the heat to PS 86 (The Kingsbridge Heights School) with a delicious veggie stir fry featuring tofu and rice. Bok choy, carrots, peppers, edamame, ginger, and garlic came together for a nourishing, plant-forward meal—and both parents and kids loved it!

By crushing garlic and waiting 10 minutes before cooking, you activate allicin, a powerful compound that supports heart health, reduces inflammation, and supports your liver. Take a listen to Chef Genny discussing the benefits of garlic last week at PS 383.

Shoutout to the parents at PS 195 who love their greens! 🥬 Chef Genny threw a whole package of spinach into her lentil sweet potato curry stew — and this crowd was here for every bite.

Eating more vegetables is one of the simplest ways to support your health—and this group was cheering her on!
