CI 75470 otherwise known as carmine, otherwise known as cochineal beetles are pulverized to death to extract their blood and guts for their bright red pigment for makeup and food coloring. It’s hard to replace because of the “beautiful” red shades it produces but it’s really disgusting 🤢 Here at Fluency, we did the unimaginable and replaced carmine with beets. You can get the same pigment impact with beets instead of beetles. 🪲
