Losing a parent to su***de is painful and complex. That's why we offer a support group especially for adults who've lost a parent.

It's facilitated by Kim Burditt Bartlett, a valued member of Coping After Su***de's remarkable national Support Group Facilitator Corps, who understands deeply what it means to be a survivor of su***de loss - her own loss was in 2010.

All of our unique national peer support groups are professionally-facilitated by people like Kim, who really get it. And they all meet by Zoom, welcoming members from all across the country.
New groups start next month.

Please pass this on to anyone who might want to know - no one should have to go through this alone.

I was so proud to have been invited by my treasured friend and colleague, the facilitator of Coping After Su***de's Father's Group, Don Lipstein to be a guest on the podcast he co-hosts with Greg Jacobs, "Turning Grief Into Growth."

We covered so much meaningful ground, and I had a chance to talk about one of my all-time favorite quotes, from Admiral William McRaven's book, that life occurs “not one step at a time, but rather one evolution at a time.”

In this episode, Joanne Harpel shares part of her journey following...

I was 29 when my brother Steve took his life, so I know first-hand how grief as a young adult can feel especially destabilizing.

Our 20s and 30s are when we're building the structure of our adult lives, so a loss this deep can affect our relationships, our career path, and even our very identity. That's why Coping After Su***de offers a unique national 20s and 30s Group, facilitated by Steven Karaiskos, a social and emotional learning expert who lost his own partner, David, to su***de.

The group is starting next month, and is a chance to connect with peers who really get it.

Please, pass this on to anyone who might benefit.

Are you interested in helping children and teens cope with a su***de loss?

Join us June 4-5 for an interactive, online training series on facilitating peer support groups for children and teens (if you can't make it live, the recordings and materials will be provided to everyone who registers).

The training will be led by Joan Hoff, who spent over 30 years with The Dougy National Center for Grieving Children and Families.

This interactive, online training workshop series is for anyone with a personal or professional interest in facilitating peer support groups for children, preteens, and teens (ages 6-18).

When you lose your partner, you lose your "Person" - your daily companion, your emergency contact, your sense of home and belonging -- and for many, your co-parent.

That's why we offer a specialized Spouses/Partners/Significant Others Group, a safe space to share just how profound and impactful this loss is, facilitated by Joan Hoff, who lost her own husband to su***de.

All of our unique national peer support groups are professionally-facilitated by people like Joan, who really get it. And they all meet by Zoom, welcoming members from all across the country.
