Today, we’re celebrating the physical therapists who keep learning, questioning, adapting, and helping people move through life with greater confidence.

Every clinician carries lessons that have changed the way they listen, evaluate, educate, or treat. Sometimes that lesson comes from a mentor. Sometimes it comes from continuing education. And sometimes it comes directly from a patient.

For World PT Day, we want to hear yours: What is one clinical lesson that changed the way you practice?

The 2026 theme highlights the role of physiotherapy and physical activity in the prevention, management, and rehabilitation of cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Share your lesson below and tag a PT who has influenced your practice.

The work behind pelvic health care is thoughtful, skilled, and deeply human.

It lives in the care taken to listen, the clinical decisions made with each patient, the advocacy that helps people feel seen, and the continued learning that moves the profession forward.

This Labor Day, we recognize pelvic health clinicians, educators, teaching assistants, and healthcare teams for everything you bring to your patients, your colleagues, and this community. 💙

Tag a colleague whose work deserves to be recognized today.

If you’re treating incontinence, chronic pelvic pain, or prolapse, you’ve likely encountered patients whose presentations don’t fit neatly into Level 1.

PF2B sharpens your evaluation of conditions including IC/PBS, vaginismus, vulvar pain, dyspareunia, PCOS, and endometriosis. It also adds the medical management context needed to determine when to treat, when to refer, and how to collaborate effectively.

Trauma-aware, hands-on labs cover external abdominal and pelvic approaches, as well as internal vaginal techniques. You’ll leave with practical skills you can apply during your next evaluation.

What clinical question is guiding your next learning decision?

If you’re planning continuing education for September 18–20, begin with the patient populations, systems and treatment questions showing up in your practice.

🧠 NEUROLOGIC PELVIC HEALTH
Parkinson Disease and Pelvic Rehabilitation explores pelvic neurophysiology, assessment considerations and treatment planning for pelvic health conditions experienced by people with Parkinson disease.

Remote course | September 18–19

🤲 VISCERAL MOBILITY
Mobilization of Visceral Fascia: The Gastrointestinal System examines the relationship between connective tissues surrounding gastrointestinal structures and musculoskeletal function. The satellite format includes hands-on practice with fascial mobilization techniques.

Sparks Glencoe, MD or Indianapolis, IN | September 18–20

🩸 MENSTRUAL HEALTH
Menstruation and Pelvic Health examines the menstrual experience and interventions that can help pelvic rehabilitation professionals provide more responsive care.

Remote course | September 19

There isn’t one learning path that fits every clinician. Start with the area that best reflects the questions you’re carrying into practice.

Considering the PRPC exam this fall? With less than 30 days until the application deadline, now is the time to make sure you understand the process and have what you need.

Start here:

1️⃣ Review the eligibility requirements. Candidates generally need an active qualifying clinical license and 2,000 hours of direct pelvic patient care completed within the past eight years, including 500 hours within the past two years.

2️⃣ Read the PRPC Information Booklet for detailed guidance on the certification and exam process.

3️⃣ Gather your documentation, including your Direct Pelvic Patient Hour Verification Worksheet.

4️⃣ Submit your completed application and application review fee by October 1, 2026.

Approved candidates will be eligible to sit for the Fall PRPC exam during the November 1–15, 2026 testing window.

Pelvic function doesn’t exist separately from the nervous system. 🧠

Neurologic diagnoses can impact pelvic function across the lifespan, which means pelvic health assessment may require clinicians to connect neurologic history, symptom presentation, and each patient’s individual goals.

This September, explore that intersection through two live remote learning opportunities with Erica Vitek, PT, DPT, NCS:

• Parkinson Disease and Pelvic Rehabilitation | September 18–19
• Neurologic Conditions and Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation | September 25–26

Expand your understanding of how neurologic diagnoses may shape pelvic function, assessment considerations, and treatment planning.

The menstrual cycle can tell clinicians much more than whether a period is “regular” or “irregular.”

In the latest Pelvic Rehab Report, Nicholas Gaffga, MD, FAAFP, MPH, and Amy Meehan, PT, DPT, MTC, share what is returning—and what is new—for the seventh offering of Menstruation and Pelvic Health.

The course brings practical menstrual health topics into the clinical conversation, including cycle tracking, menstrual products, flow management, yoga and movement, and the relationship between menstrual cups, discs, IUDs, and prolapse.

New for September 2026, the curriculum also explores genitourinary symptoms associated with hypo-estrogen states, cervical stenosis and dysmenorrhea, irregular bleeding patterns, and the hormonal physiology behind common patient concerns.

The hip and pelvic floor do not function in isolation, and tomorrow, Kristina Koch, PT, MSPT, WCS, CLT, is bringing the connection into focus.

Kristina has specialized in pelvic floor dysfunction since 2001 and has helped establish pelvic health physical therapy programs in both California and Colorado. In this free live webinar, she’ll explore how hip mobility, strength, and movement strategies can influence load and pressure throughout the lumbopelvic region, and how pelvic floor symptoms may shape the way a patient moves, stabilizes, and responds to activity.

Join us tomorrow:

📅 Friday, August 28
⏰ 3:00 PM ET | 1:00 PM MT

Take a broader clinical look at the hip–pelvic floor relationship and consider how it may inform assessment and treatment planning.

What changes when the ground beneath you changes? 🪨

On rocks, sand, or slippery inclines, a heel-first walking pattern may feel less stable. In this week’s TA Tuesday, Sarah Cairns explores how shifting weight toward the forefoot can support push-off, allow the heel to lower with more control, and change how the pelvic floor responds during walking.

The takeaway isn’t that one gait strategy fits every body. It’s a reminder to look beyond the level clinic floor: Where is your patient loading? How does the ankle respond? Do feelings of pelvic heaviness or vulnerability change across surfaces?

As always, gait strategies should be explored safely and adapted to each patient’s presentation.

What do you notice when assessing gait on uneven terrain?
