At the harsh labor camps of the past, prisoners often faced backbreaking work under relentless supervision. One of the most dreaded tasks was hauling heavy rocks from a quarry up a steep, unforgiving hill. With every step, the weight of the stones dug into their shoulders, and the loose ground beneath their feet made the climb even more difficult. Exhaustion, hunger, and pain accompanied them on every trip. At the top of the slope, a guard watched closely, shouting orders and demanding that the workers keep moving no matter how tired they were. One day, a young prisoner lost his footing while carrying a load and tumbled several feet down the hillside, scraping his hands and bruising his body. Despite his injuries, he was ordered to climb back up immediately and continue working. Struggling through the pain, he rose and pressed on, encouraged by the quiet nods, determined glances, and whispered words of support from fellow prisoners who shared his burden.
