Did you know fresh flowers improve the body’s ability to heal? 🌼✨Yes! They do more than make your home look pretty. Research shows that people who have fresh flowers around recover faster from medical procedures and have less complications. Pretty cool huh? I can only imagine the impact flowers have on improving overall wellness. Can’t wait to pick up some fresh babies at the farmer’s market this weekend. Wishing I could send fresh flowers to my patients ✨💐🌻

We don’t typically think about testing the gut microbiome when there are no digestive symptoms; however, so many of my patients have resolved their hormone imbalances by treating the gut. Bacterial overgrowth, pathogenic bacteria, intestinal permeability and a lack of beneficial bacteria all wreak havoc throughout the body and often lead to hormonal conditions like hypothyroidism. Healing the gut and building up a healthy gut microbiome enables so many people to restore their hormones naturally and take back their health.

Healing the gut and building up a healthy gut microbiome enables so many people to take back their health.

A new study published in JAMA Internal Medicine last month found that coffee was not associated with increased risk of heart disease, a longstanding belief of many medical practitioners. The study demonstrated that coffee was actually associated with decreased risk of heart disease. Other studies have found that coffee has beneficial effects on our health due to its antioxidant and polyphenol content, which help reduce inflammation and promote a healthy gut microbiome. Of course, as with anything, moderation is key. For most people, 1-2 cups of coffee per day is supportive of health and wellness.
