We are pleased to announce the five awardees for the 2026 New York City Partnership Pilot Project Awards! These awards provide funding of up to $25,000 for pilot projects that address health challenges faced by communities in Queens, NYC. The NYC Partnership is a collaboration between the Arnhold Institute for Global Health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Community and Global Health Institute at NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst and Queens.
The selected projects are:
• Addressing barriers to CPR education in Hispanic communities: the EQUALS initiative – Benjamin Abella, MD, MPhil, and Isaac Gordon, MD
• CONTEXT-Queens: Comparing Operationalizations of Neighborhood Context in Queens – Andrew Maroko, PhD, and Lynne Richardson, MD
• QUeens Education and Screening Team for Cardiovascular-Kidney-Metabolic Syndrome (QUEST-CKM) – Dinushika Mohottige, MD, MPH, and Jonathan Haydak, PhD
• Cholen Haati (Let's Walk): An Exercise/Walking Club to Improve Regular Physical Activity in Bangladeshi Women – Irene Rahman, MD
• Machine Learning-Based Phenotyping of Accelerated Vascular Aging and Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events in NYC HIV and/or TB Cohorts in the Post-COVID Era – Vincent Rizzo, MD, MBA, and Jonathan Marmur, MD
