Now an online source for everyone! Originally a NYC based yoga studio serving the most culturally diverse neighborhood in the world, The Giving Tree was started in January of 2001 by Anne-Margaret Redding with 5 students, renting space from a dance studio. The studio provided classes, workshops, teacher trainings, astrological services, women's circle, and most importantly, a like-minded social co
mmunity. The studio's principles focused on developing an overall sense of wellbeing on a foundation of inclusivity with a family-like sense of belonging. In 2009, Anne-Margaret and her husband, Anthony, expanded into their own dedicated brick and mortar studio on 31st Street and Ditmars in Astoria, NYC. In 2019, the overseeing of the NYC community was adopted by another couple who sadly closed it within a year. Now, with an online community, Anne-Margaret's 3 original class styles (Chakra Yoga, AromaYIN, and Total Training) are offered online as well as continuing education certifications for teachers & health practitioners who seek to increase their expertise and marketability. The women's circle that once met in Astoria, NYC, now meets every month online. Check out: www.RaiseTheVibration.com for more info! About our teacher training... Our Yoga Alliance accredited 200-hour Chakra Yoga Teacher Training was designed to cultivate teachers who are able to express their unique spirit, strengths, and passions through yoga. Participants complete with a toolbox full of inspiration and practical approaches to creating classes that inspire and truly make a difference for others. We are also registered as a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP), offering (4) 30-hour training certifications to increase the expertise and marketability of yoga teachers and wellness practitioners. Three of the four 30-hour training courses certify students in Anne-Margaret’s three signature styles: Chakra Yoga™, AromaYIN™, and Total Training™. Her fourth 30-hour training, ‘Alignment and Assisting’, focuses on the all-too-often neglected aspects of teaching yoga: accurate verbal alignment cueing and precise hands-on assisting. A Message From Our NYC Brick & Mortar Studio: Many residents of NYC chose to leave the communities of their childhood, leave their country, leave their families, step out of the box, & move to a city of 8 million to pursue their passions, their calling, & their dream. This uprooting can feel very lonely and it is incredibly important to have a supportive, loving, inclusive community as a chosen 'family' to nurture you and provide a home away from home. The Giving Tree has become that 'family' to so many and provides endless opportunities for personal development, community building, and joyful connections with others.
