"The formerly incarcerated and all who play this game will bond, laugh, and heal." - Jeffrey Deskovic, M.A. Founder of The Jeffrey Deskovic Foundation for Justice
Jeffrey Deskovic was wrongfully convicted of murder and served more than 16 years behind bars. He was exonerated based on DNA evidence and a confession from the actual perpetrator. Jeffrey's mission now is clear, to help not only the wr
ongfully convicted, but everyone that goes through the ordeal of prison life. He knows first hand how hard it is to integrate back into society and the need to talk things out with those that you love. This is the perfect tool for just that. This game was invented by Psychotherapist Leslie Robinson. Leslie is the President of Beyond the Bars, LLC; President of Trance4mation Nation and CEO of Trance4mation Games. Leslie is also a guest speaker for the Department of Defense. Leslie is a leading and sought after expert in her field and has a private practice in New York City. RECHARGE joins other highly praised games created by Leslie, an innovative, rising star specializing in the development of games as social communication, healing and transformation tools. Leslie’s other games include Warrior Spirit Mission Homefront, a veteran reintegration game currently being used by all branches of the military; Keep It Real Diverse (Diversity) game, in use nationwide on hundreds of college campuses; and the Keep It Real (Original) game, being utilized by one hundred Boys & Girl’s Clubs and youth programs nationwide. Jeffrey’s motivation for establishing the Beyond The Bars LLC partnership and to launch the RECHARGE Beyond the Bars Re-entry Game is that it aligns with his mission to proactively help men, women, and young adults emerge from their incarceration to adapt to everyday society. Beyond the Bars provides a lifeline to people who have largely been written-off by society. Recharge is the flagship product that Jeffrey realizes can alleviate some of the crucial communication challenges that exist between the formerly incarcerated and their friends and family. Jeffrey earned his Master’s Degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2013, which included writing a thesis on the causes of wrongful conviction and the legislation needed to shore up those cracks in the system. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Mercy College. During his wrongful imprisonment, Jeffrey received his Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts in 1994 from Corning Community College.
