Minutes matter when it comes to stroke, but prevention starts today. 🕰️✨
As we observe National Stroke Awareness Month, we want our village to feel equipped and empowered. While our Rehabilitation Institute is a leader in stroke recovery, our goal is always to help you stay ahead of the curve through prevention and early detection.
The B.E. F.A.S.T. Check:
⚖️ B - Balance: Is there a sudden loss of balance or coordination?
👀 E - Eyes: Is there sudden blurred or double vision?
👤 F - Face: Does one side of the face droop when smiling?
💪 A - Arms: Does one arm drift downward when both are raised?
🗣️ S - Speech: Is their speech slurred or strange?
⏰ T - Time: If you see any of these signs, call 911 immediately!
3 Ways to Lower Your Risk:
👀 Monitor the Silent Signs: Keep a close eye on blood pressure and cholesterol. High blood pressure is the #1 manageable risk factor for stroke.
🚶♂️ Move Your Way: Just 30 minutes of moderate activity, like a walk around the neighborhood or your room, can significantly lower your risk.
🍓 Fuel for your Heart: Incorporate more brain-healthy foods like berries, fatty fish, and leafy greens into your meals.
In our Circle of Care, your safety is our priority. Let’s look out for one another! 🏛️💙
