Today, Dr. Josephine Urbina (), an ob/gyn in California and Fellow with Physicians for Reproductive Health, is testified before the in a hearing titled “The Assault of Women By Trump’s ICE & CBP.”

Congress has the responsibility to ensure that healthcare settings remain places of care rather than fear, and that pregnancy and parenting are not made more dangerous by detention, surveillance, or family separation.

Every person, regardless of immigration status, deserves the ability to seek medical care with dignity, safety and humanity.

⚡️ABORTION IS NOT THAT COMPLICATED, ACTUALLY —

On Friday, the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit issued a decision in Louisiana v. Food and Drug Administration, mandating that one of the two medications used in the majority of medication abortion care in the United States, mifepristone, must be dispensed in person. By Monday, the Supreme Court had temporarily paused that decision.

The legal back-and-forth IS part of our opposition’s strategy. They want pregnant patients to think they must stay pregnant, or that abortion is too complicated to even attempt.

We are asking SCOTUS to put a stop to the confusion and chaos. Mifepristone is safe whether you open it in the mail or a provider personally puts it in your hand. This Court should block the Fifth Circuit’s extraordinary stay.

Black mamas have long built the framework for what it means to care for families, communities, and futures — with justice at the center and joy as a practice, not a reward.

If we’re serious about Black maternal health, we have to move beyond outcomes and into accountability.

That means listening to comprehend.
That means making connections across systems.
That means doing work that doesn’t feel easy or comfortable.

The blueprint is already here. The question is what we do with it.

⚡️ANTI-ABORTION EXTREMISTS ARE AT IT AGAIN —

Another day, another shoddy attempt to further limit people’s options to decide what to do with their bodies and their lives.

Study after study and review after review proves what we, medical doctors, already know: mifepristone is safe whether you receive it via telehealth or we hand it to you ourselves. These constant attempts to question the safety and efficacy of mifepristone has no basis in science — they are about control and nothing more.

And even though access to abortion via telehealth remains unchanged for now, we’re not going to let anti-abortion extremists get away with these lies. Neither should you.

Trans people are worthy of safety.
Trans people are worthy of celebration.

Through anti-trans legislation and Supreme Court rulings, cis people should not and cannot look away. The politicians you despise are counting on you to leave trans people behind. We implore you to refuse.
