Yesterday was full of celebration 🎉

Dad was gifted a quilt of Valor from an area Church group for his years of service in the military. This was a three year process but he finally received this gorgeous hand stitched red, white and blue quilt.

Mom is feeling good and was able to stand by him as she has done his entire military career.

It was a great day!

Hey everyone!

Mom has been back on FB and in touch with many of you all.
She's doing better than she has previously. She's getting out of the house and actually went to a restaurant last week for lunch! Y'all, she hadn't been able to get out of bed in almost a year! This is great news. 🎉

She still has home health coming in during the week to help her out with rebuilding those muscles. Otherwise, y'all...she's on the path finally!

Never give up is the moral of this post.

One year ago ..

One year ago someone lost their lives sadly but saved my Mom's by being a donor. Bless their family for their sacrifice.

One year of ups and downs, in and out of surgery, back and forth to Charleston, forever thankful for assistance from family and friends to assist, but one year later ...

Mom is still here with us.

Y'all have been amazing superheroes supporting her and the family as we all move day to day through the motions. Today is a great day..here is to year one!!! 💞

It's a grand Tuesday morning in the world. I hope this finds all of Mom's angels doing quite well.

Mom is still healing, at home thankfully. She lacks muscle memory in her legs which makes the stairs her nemesis right now. She will get there but for now...

If you feel compelled to send mom some mail this week she could use the tangible support.

Her birthday (71) is this Friday and then next Monday is her ONE YEAR of being a transplant recipient!!! It's been a hell of a year for her, Dad and the family but without the support from you all I don't know how we would have made it through.

In celebrating both of her "birthdays", please drop her a line this week if possible. Usually I don't share her personal address but I think this year is a tad different.

Guess who is home? ....

She's happy to finally be home.

She still has a road ahead to strengthen her legs etc. Please continue prayers for her.

So much has happened I forgot where we left off....lol

Mom is still at inpatient rehabilitation in Columbia and doing very well. Her speech is back, she's quite good at it too 🤣. She is regaining muscle control and can walk more daily. She's just trying to push forward no matter how hard it is. She spent almost a year bedridden, so this is not a fast fix.

Thank you for the continued support, visits, and prayers. It carries her through.

Small update but huge progress.

Mom is currently in rehab working in OT and PT daily. Every step literally is in the right direction. Keep praying for her strength and healing.

Let's end this month with some good news.

Mom was transferred to inpatient rehabilitation yesterday evening. Now the really hard part begins. She has essentially been bed bound the last year and definitely for over a month at the hospital. It's time to rebuild those muscles so she can walk again.

This is not an easy path for her but if she sets her mind to it she will get through.

Just keep sending good thoughts and prayers her way please.
