Let’s talk about instrument proficiency.
As pilots, we know that staying current isn’t the same as staying proficient. An Instrument Proficiency Check isn’t just about checking a box. It’s about maintaining the cognitive sharpness, situational awareness, decision-making ability, and discipline required to safely operate in the IFR environment.
I’m Michael Tolbert — The Peptide Pilot.
When you’re flying in the clouds, managing approaches, interpreting weather, briefing procedures, and staying ahead of the airplane, your mind is your greatest asset.
That’s why I place such a high priority on sleep, recovery, stress management, and cognitive performance.
DSIP is often discussed for its role in supporting healthy sleep patterns and restorative recovery. We all know that quality sleep directly impacts reaction time, judgment, focus, and overall performance.
Semax has gained attention for its potential role in supporting focus, mental clarity, learning, and cognitive performance under demanding situations.
Selank is commonly explored for its calming effects and support for stress management, helping maintain composure during high-workload environments.
Now let me be clear…
None of these compounds replace proficiency training.
You still have to fly the approaches.
You still have to study the procedures.
You still have to practice emergency scenarios.
You still have to maintain discipline.
These are simply tools that may help support the foundation of good performance.
As a CFII, I understand the demands of instrument flying. As The Peptide Pilot, I understand the importance of optimizing every aspect of performance.
Whether we’re talking about aviation, peptides, or performance optimization, my goal is simple: help you perform at your absolute best.
Current doesn’t always mean proficient.
Prioritize your sleep. Train your mind. Stay disciplined.
