I have always found these low mugs kind of tricky but intriguing

This teapot was woodfire in a train kiln, but just didn’t get quite enough action. It got to temperature but didn’t accumulate enough ash to v***r and might have well have been in a reduction firing. I re-fired it in the gas soda kiln and it got blasted.

Yesterday was a dremel, diamond bat, wet sandinbrg kind of day. Today is a documentation and back to wet clay kind of day. I am excited to be bringing a lot of work I’m excited about to pottery palooza in Richmond Indiana on 9/12 and the Michigan pottery tour on 9/26 and 9/27. I’ll be at Troy Bungart stop

I made a round of small bowls for the cross draft firing last weekend and I sure am glad I did

I’d reccomend sound in. Last night I was alone with a wood kiln for the first time in recent memory. Most of my firings these days are a part of classes and workshops I’m leading at Queen City Clay and they are great, but there is nothing likely letting your mind wander while being alone with the kiln. I kept returning to gratitude. For folks who taught me how to do this, and folks who want to learn about and how wonderful it is to have a firing and life partner in Sara Torgison Will post some new pots soon.
