You probably heard me talk about Collagen a couple times. So here goes another gem to drive the point home.
Glycine is the main amino acid in collagen. It detoxifies the body, builds muscle, and puts you into a deep, restorative sleep.
Glutathione is a antioxidant that fights free radicals.
Glutathione is the most powerful antioxidant known to man and it’s produced endogenously! It can combat cancer, psoriasis, Parkinson’s and autoimmune disease, and improve insulin resistance.
Glycine is a crucial component for creating glutathione, and low glycine levels impairs glutathione production.
Want to build muscle? You’re going to need creatine… and if you want creatine, you need Glycine!
Glycine is a key ingredient in creatine, which helps muscles recover, strengthen faster and improves endurance.
Creatine also helps with conditions like Huntington’s, Parkinson's, depression, arthritis, diabetes, and pregnancy!
All that magic is powered by Glycine!
Glycine also improves sleep quality by lowering body temperature and increasing serotonin production, the precursor to the “sleep hormone” melatonin.
And unlike other sleep aids, Glycine doesn’t cause daytime drowsiness, even if it was taken during the day.
Adding Glycine to a weight loss strategy increases fat burning and preserves muscle.
Losing muscle when you lose weight makes you more likely to gain the lost weight back, and even more!
Plus, low glycine levels are commonly seen in obesity, type 2 diabetes, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
My daily life includes tons of Glycine!
Bone broth is the first thing I consume daily to break my fast.
I also use clean collagen powders from or to mix in my raw milk drink.
I eat meat close to the bone, bone marrow and I include shellfish to my diet weekly.
Also I found out that Glycine when isolated has a sweet taste so I make my own soda mixing sparkling water with electrolyte powder lemon-lIme flavor and Glycine powder from adding even more Glycine to my everyday regime.
Are you convinced? Are you going to start paying attention to your collagen and Glycine intake? Tell us in the comments!
