Maybe it will be for a loved one, a friend, or even a stranger you might help in a time of need! Research shows that immediate CPR can triple the chance of survival!

Two Bear Air has had two rescues: one on the 10th and one on the 13th, with return of circulation due to immediate citizen CPR.

Congratulations to Community Ambulance in Noxon,MT on receiving a New 2026 Type 1 Medix ME153 Ambulance through the MT DOT Grant. This grant has offered organizations like this opportunity to be able to upgrade ambulances and other equipment for their community. Many safe responses!

🚨 URGENT SAFETY ALERT – POWER OUTAGES & DOWNED LINES 🚨

⚠️ Power is currently OUT in parts of the area, and POWER LINES ARE DOWN ON ROADWAYS.

🌬️ Strong winds continue to create extremely dangerous conditions, including:
• Live power lines across roads
• Falling trees and debris
• Impassable or hazardous travel routes

🚫 DO NOT TRAVEL unless it is absolutely necessary.
🚨 Never drive over or near downed power lines — assume all lines are LIVE.

🏠 If you are home, stay put if safe to do so.
📱 Conserve phone battery and keep devices charged when possible.
🌲 Secure loose items and stay away from damaged trees or lines.

🚑 Reducing travel helps protect you and allows emergency and utility crews to respond safely.

A short piece of Highway 56 is currently closed. Other closures are being reported as well in Sanders and Lincoln counties and Bonner County, Idaho. Take that into account if you have to travel and use extreme caution when on the roads.

Crews are working as quickly as they can to safely reopen roads. You will see fire, EMS, and DOT personnel and vehicles. Please slow down and respect their safety!

Did you know the Community Ambulance has vital members who are NOT emergency care providers? We currently have 3 supportive staff positions!

One of these is our organization secretary. Our current secretary has worked diligently to help keep things running smoothly for the past 8 years! However, she’s decided it’s now time for her to retire, which means we are looking for a dedicated community member to take on this important role.

It’s officially smoke season here in our corner of the valley. Wildfire smoke can hurt your eyes, irritate your lungs, and worsen chronic conditions. To lower your risks of exposure and negative effects, implement a few simple actions:

1. Limit time outdoors - especially avoiding vigorous activity
2. Stay hydrated
3. Keep indoor air as clean as possible

Check in frequently with family members, friends, and neighbors, especially those in higher risk groups such as the elderly, young children, pregnant women, and anyone with preexisting conditions such as asthma or heart conditions.

Important PSA!!!

Please avoid the closures and stay alert for increased fire traffic in the surrounding areas.

⚠️TEMPORARY ROAD AND TRAIL CLOSURE-Ulm Fire Closure

A temporary closure surrounding the Ulm Creek Fire has been signed by both the Idaho Panhandle and the Kootenai National Forests.

The purpose of the closure is for public and firefighter safety due to an active wildfire and ongoing suppression activities.

The Gem Peak Lookout and Gem Peak Warming Hut on the Cabinet Ranger District are both now closed as they fall within the closure order area. All reservations for the lookout have been cancelled and anyone with future reservations has been or will be notified. For further questions, please call the Cabinet Ranger District at 406-827-3533.
