Happy Veterans day! As a wife of a veteran, today is special. Today we remember all veterans! Being married to a veteran has its blessings, challenges, highs and lows. Our marriage is far from perfect but we both work on it the best we can. My veteran has suffered multiple TBIs (traumatic brain injuries) which brings a different perspective on live. We have good days and bad days. Each day is a new day and we take it in stride. One thing I do know is he strives to help other veterans to become their best self. Recently I heard another veteran comment about how he was in a dark place not long ago... his statement of "I knew in this dark place I needed other veterans. This was the only way I was going to make it out." It has really sat heavy on my heart today. I see this need sometimes in my own spouse. The camaraderie that is built between the men and women is what keeps them going. If your veteran is struggling maybe they need the camaraderie of other service members. There are hundreds of programs out there that help veterans link up, deal with stress, financial issues, job finding, mental health, and recreational assistance. I am currently working with my spouse to provide information on some of the programs he has participated in and benefited from.

I started this page months ago and ran into a mental road block. Not a bump in the road type of road block; but a wall taller than and longer than any wall you can ever imagine. I originally started this page to help provide information, ideas, suggestions and DIYs to others to assist in navigating life, especially those of you who are living the military life or veteran life. No matter where you are in the journey of the military or civilian life, I hope you find something useful or you take a moment to share useful ideas and information. Life is messy and hard but when you are present and living your life it is so beautiful. I struggle with being consistent. So please, as I attempt to get my page completely up and running, have patience with me. God Bless!
