Want to work on your ocean skills with other queers? Join one of our lessons, camps or retreats and lets get in the water! Queer Surf Goals:
• Foster a safe space for marginalized people to enjoy the ocean and beach
• Equip our community with the tools, knowledge and confidence to safely navigate the water
• Confront our fears of the waves and beach and address the trauma we have
• Make new friends, have fun, build community
• Help each other improve our surfing and be stronger water people

About the instructor: Kyla Langen has been riding waves since she could walk, and lifeguarding and teaching surfing for 20 years. Surfing professionally for 12 years, she swam upstream as a gay women in a heteronormative, patriarchal surf industry. Because of her experiences and limitations in the surf industry she started teaching to diversify the water. Kyla believes in the healing, empowering magic of the ocean and wants all people to have access to it.
