Timmy McDonnell, The Amazing Save

Timmy McDonnell, The Amazing Save This is a place for Timmy's friends and family to share prayers, positive thoughts and photos of Timmy to aid in his healing.

This page is run by Timmy's family, and we will share updates about Timmy's recovery here as well. Timmy's family--Clare, Timmy Sr., and Matty, are so touched by the outpouring of love for their son and brother, Timothy. We wanted to provide a place for us all to be together, family, friends, and even new friends. All of the communities that Timmy is a part of--Holmdel, Rutgers, the McDonnell and

McDonald families, and Robert Wood Johnson, have created a beautiful, positive force around Timmy, and we want to continue that here. Please share your favorite pictures of Timmy with us.

Hello friends, today is October 4th 2024 and exactly 10 years since Timmy was hit by a drunk driver and almost lost his life. A day that changed his life forever. We remember meeting with his surgeon, Dr. Tiagi , after he had survived his critical injuries and her telling us that we would know more after 10 years..So today is another milestone for him..... In January of this year we had a party for his 30th birthday that was much different from his 20th birthday at Kessler It was attended by friends, coaches and former teammates. He also got to see Dr. Tiagi ,the Neurosurgeon who saved his life. In February he met Erik Legrand who was doing physical therapy at Kessler when Timmy was there.. Erik wanted to meet Timmy. In September Timmy started working at Elizabeth Truck Center after 8 years in the Holmdel school system. The truck center is owned by our friend and ex neighbor Anthony Pesche. He is trying to teach Timmy a trade .We couldn't be more thankful..... ...... .... . Timmys social life is limited and he spends most of his time at home with us Sadly some of his friends have moved on and he hasn't been invited to some special events but tonight he is attending his good friend Mark Sabetell's wedding. He is very excited ...Special thanks to his friends who stay in touch with him..It means alot to us.. .. .... Timmy has fought like hell to recover from his injuries and we have tried to document the ups and downs of his recovery and there have been many.Sometime in 2025 we will be releasing a documentary that will tell his story from the day he was hit till now. It has been an emotional ride and our family couldn't be more proud of our AMAZING SAVE.....Remember "The most astonishing thing about miracles is they happen" Thank you from Tim,Clare,Timmy and Matt

Hello friends, after 8 years today was Timmy's last day working in the Holmdel School District. It was a great place to rehab because he had great memories of his time in the Holmdel school system. He saw many of his old teachers and coaches on a daily basis.... We wanted to especially thank Barbara Duncan, the BOE and all the administrators, teachers and staff who were so good to him.He spent time in all the schools and he told us today how he saw kids go from Village to the high school. Timmy will start a new job in September with our old neighbor Anthony Pesche's company Car Craft Truck works...Anthony and his family have never forgotten what Timmy has gone through and is still going through. Please wish him luck in this next step in his life. .. Remember "The most astonishing thing about miracles is that they happen" The McDonnells.

Thanks to Dr.John O'Conner of Velocity Chiropractic and Wellness Center Timmy had the honor to meet Eric Legrand last night ...Eric and Timmy both attended Rutgers and both did their rehab at Kessler Institute. Eric is truly inspiring and of course exhibits many of the same traits as Clare's brother Steven McDonald... it was a great experience to spend some time with him... please go out and check out Eric Legrand Whiskey...a portion of the profits go to the Christopher Reeve Foundation for people with spinal cord injuries

Timmy has had some week...He spent his 30th birthday on Sunday surrounded by his friends and yesterday he saw Dr. Tyagi, the Neurosurgeon who operated on him at RWJ and saved his life the night he was hit by the drunk driver. What do you say to someone who saved your child's life ? Well, Timmy gave her flowers, hugged her and thanked her for being his Angel...Clare and I just watched in amazement..
