Apparently I was never going to make jewelry without eventually putting the moon all over it 🌙

Even on simple pieces, I feel the moon offers such a deep, mysterious energy for anyone who dares to don its symbol.
The Lunar collection gave me a chance to play with that energy through metal stamping and create pieces that feel simple, celestial, and a little mysterious.

Which design from the Lunar collection speaks most to you?

Would you rather know when you’re going to die, or how you’re going to die?

I finished They Both Die at the End last night, and apparently this is the kind of question it left living in my brain.

Choose wisely.

October felt like the right time to revisit “I’m Dead” from Negative Spaces to Fill the Void.

The poem is about loving someone so deeply that their absence makes you feel dead in every part of yourself.
Whether that absence comes from death, distance, or the end of a relationship is left open for you.

Some kinds of loss change the shape of everything around them.

Who knew pounding on pieces of steel with a hammer would become one of my favorite things to do?

There’s something deeply satisfying about turning a blank piece of metal into something with a little personality.

Something strange has been growing behind the scenes...

Roots of the Rose has a new look!

The website has been refreshed, new stamped collections have found their way into the shop, and The Witch Next Door blog has officially crawled back out of the shadows.
Come take a look around and see what’s changed.
New look. Same strange magic ✨

Reintroduction time! Hey, everyone! I’m Jenna Rose, owner and creative behind Roots of the Rose.
I started Roots of the Rose almost 9 years ago as a way to get back to myself, and somehow it grew into this strange little creative world where I get to make jewelry, paint, write, vend at markets, host events, and generally make whatever my brain decides needs to exist.
Life has been a little chaotic lately! I recently moved, which is a huge reason posting has been more inconsistent than I’d like- but it WILL get better.
I’m also currently rebranding, fine-tuning, and making some updates to Roots of the Rose, so you may notice things shifting and changing a bit before your eyes. There are some exciting things in the works, so stay tuned.
Outside of Roots of the Rose, I still work full time in the veterinary field while vending and hosting markets, where you can find me with my stainless steel jewelry and book of poetry.
A little about me outside of all that: I live in Oceanside with my boyfriend and my cat, Riven. I LOVE Pokémon. I’m currently playing Pokopia and Z-A. And I have two Pokémon tattoos!
So... anyways, hi!
If you’ve been here for a while, thank you for sticking around through all the changes and watching Roots of the Rose continue to evolve.
And if you’re new here- welcome to my strange little corner of the internet.
There’s more coming soon.

I've noticed recently that no two markets have the same exact setup. And it's funny because I've tried to actually keep the same setup, but between different vendor neighbors, the venue, etc, it's never the same.
