Have you heard the story of Laika?

She wasn’t trained to be a hero. She was just a stray dog — until the day she was chosen to go to space.

In 1957, Laika was found wandering the streets of Moscow. Scientists believed stray dogs were tougher and more resilient, able to survive harsh conditions. So they chose her for a mission that had never been attempted before.

On November 3rd, 1957, Laika was launched aboard Sputnik 2, becoming the first living creature to orbit the Earth.

She had no way to return home.

Laika helped prove that a living being could survive launch and exist in space — a discovery that paved the way for human spaceflight. But her journey also came with a heartbreaking cost, and she became a symbol of both scientific progress and the sacrifices made along the way.

Today, Laika’s story is remembered all over the world. A small stray dog who unknowingly became one of the first explorers beyond our planet.

I had the honor of creating this tattoo to remember her story — a little pioneer who left Earth and became a legend among the stars. 🖤

This particular client actually found me when she turned to Google to search for an artist who could do this particular style. Apparently, I am the #1 result for Utah 🥰

I am so happy that this client found me, and trusted me to create this memorial tattoo for her 🫶

Something that most people who do not run their own business do not understand; It doesn't matter if we are at home or at our place of work, we are always working.

I wasn't at the tattoo studio today, but was doing admin work for myself and the studio that I manage. I have been doing this work since 10 am this morning, and currently at a little past 7 pm, I am still not done. I still have a whole to-do list of things that I didn't get to today.

I have also been working on catching up on my texts/social media messages. I currently have 132 client leads I need to reach out to, and around 100 social media messages/text messages that I still need to respond to. This is after reaching out to and responding to a ton already.... so if you are waiting on a response from me, please be patient! Or alternatively, schedule a consultation on my website to discuss your tattoo ideas😉

With that same breath, I am so grateful that this is my life and what I get to do! This is something I used to dream of, and wished was my reality, and it finally is. I am thankful to be as busy as I am, and have such supportive clients and colleagues in my life 🖤
