Fly with the Eagles & Soar with the Stars, Shannon Cowen! You will be GREATLY missed by so many people in our community but now you are unleashed to explore all that your heart desires!
It is with a very heavy heart that I share with my followers that this beautiful, fun-loving, smiling, laughing, busy-bee of a woman moved on to a new adventure beyond this plane of existence on May 14, 2026 due to an aggressive form of cancer.
I know many of us have had great times talking with Shannon for hours at the little jewelry, herb and tea shop she envisioned and built called Seven Sky Stones Wellness. Even though I bought the shop from Shannon 2 years ago and created Golden Well Oasis, people still pop in from time to time to see if she is still around doing the foot detoxes.
I met Shannon at Ten Islands boat ramp about 5 years ago and I vividly remember the first time I saw her riding in her zippy side-by-side with such a positive glow about her that I was drawn to her like a moth to my porchlight! I KNEW I wanted to get to know this ray of sunshine because her high vibrations resonated from her, unlike anyone else I had met in Alabama since moving hereโฆ And if you have ever seen her at the Ten Islands Park, you KNOW what I mean! I didnโt get to do much more than meet her briefly that day but I would have never guessed how sheโd bless my life in the coming years!
The next time we met was at the small crystal and jewelry shop she opened up next to Samco gas station in Ohatchee. Boy, she was a visionary and didnโt let any fear or uncertainty get in her way of opening a business from scratch. I admired her courage, her ambition, and her seemingly limitless energy! She was working at Ten Islands Park ( she affectionately always referred to as โThe Parkโ) as well as opening her store and just living life to the fullest. That is when the new walking trail had been completed and Shannon invited me to take tour of the Park on her side-by-side. I appreciated her deep love of nature and we hit it off so well talking about health, wellness, herbs and the possibilities of the future of her shop.
Then she moved Seven Sky Stones Wellness to the building across the street where she grew her business for a couple years in the quaint little town of Ohatchee. Every time I visited her, we would have delicious tea and chat for hours. It was so refreshing to have someone who was so interested in the same things as I wasโฆ helping people get well with herbs and energy modalities.
After a couple of years, Shannon reached out to me to ask if I would be interested in buying her herb and tea shop because she said she couldnโt imagine giving up this wellness space that she had built (her baby) to anyone else that she trusted more than me. She loved our community and knew that I would love it with the same compassion and knowledgeable care that she had nurtured for the past 2 years. She said she was ready to move on to new adventures and that she felt like she was meant to start this business for me to take over in her place. Many signs confirmed that to be true and my Golden Well Oasis bloomed from Shannonโs Seven Sky Stones.
I will always be so grateful for her helping me follow my dreams and passion of assisting people on their wellness journey and her courage that inspired me to take a leap of faith and own a retail wellness shop. I will never forget her herb-loving, truth-telling, cheerful, and beautiful soul. I remember the last hug I gave her in this shop that she helped found as she left with a bag of Mullein in her hand. Mullein was her go-to for any respiratory crud, if you recall. She advised me to never go without it stocked for our customers.
You taught me so much and you will always be remembered, Shannon, and so very greatly missed!
