A one off 3.5”stainless damascus paring knife.

The handle material for this knife was from a slingshot that the owner whittled in his childhood many decades ago using an X-acto knife and spent a lot of time playing with. I wanted to pay homage to that period in his life so I experimented with different finishes and decided on a weathered aesthetic with hand whittle textures and contours. This is a very special project I am happy to be a part of and I hope he enjoys it for many years to come.

This one is an example of a partial mirror finish. High levels of polish require a lot of time at every grit stage to remove previous imperfections. Makers can spend anywhere from a handful of hours to many days perfecting a mirror finish and still not arrive at an acceptable result.

It is not an economical finish and is only recommended for those who specifically know they want it and don’t mind the wait.
