Dillon has always loved the water, but his disability limits what he can do. He struggles with Autism, which in addition to impacting his freedom to interact normally with others, to express himself clearly, and to think and process like others, it also means he can't balance on a bicycle or stay between the lines. He needs an outlet where he can shine. For Dillon, a tug is what will float his boa
t. He wants to be a tug captain. One never knows how far a dream can carry, so Dad intends to start him out by operating an actual mini tug, under the name of "Heart Strings". Of course, this is no simple undertaking. It may well take thousands of hours and more lunch money than I would like to admit, but hey, what are dreams for, if not to encourage the impossible. When completed, the tug will allow him, and a few others, to cruise around calm water harbors of Puget Sound in Washington State. He doesn't have to balance. There are no strict lines on the water. His choppy communication will fit the environment. And with Dad aboard, his concentration doesn't have to be quite as precise. He will be able to be a real tug captain. The intent in building his dream is:
* to provide Dillon with a safe and impactful way to be all he can be.
