🌸 Creativity, Sunshine & Sweet Treats! 🍦

Our TLC participants recently spent a fun day creating colorful flower arrangements and enjoying time together at the center. Hands-on activities like these encourage self-expression, fine-motor skills, following each step, and the chance to make personal choices — all in a warm, supportive environment.

Then, with the summer heat rolling in, everyone cooled off with ice cream and popsicles while relaxing and visiting with friends. Simple moments like these help build social connections, create lasting memories, and bring a little extra joy to the day.

💙 Staying Active Together at the YMCA

We spent some time at the YMCA recently — and everyone found their own way to get moving. Some walked, some worked up a good sweat, some jumped right into an activity, and others enjoyed simply being part of the group. However each person likes to stay active, there was room for it.

That's what our Health & Wellness time is all about. Moving our bodies, yes — but also building healthy routines, connecting with friends, and growing a little more confident and independent along the way.

🔥🚨 Safety Starts with Preparation

At TLC at Home, keeping the people we support safe is always our first priority.

Each month, our team practices fire and severe-weather (tornado) drills together, calmly walking through our emergency steps from start to finish. Practicing regularly helps the people we serve feel familiar and comfortable with what to do — and gives our staff the chance to stay sharp and respond with confidence if a real situation ever comes up.

Preparedness is a big part of creating the safe, supportive, person-centered space where everyone we serve can learn, take part, and thrive.

Colorful Creations at TLC 🎨
Bright colors, big smiles, and a whole lot of creativity! Our participants recently rolled up their sleeves for a summer tie-dye activity — twisting, dipping, and picking colors all their own.
And it was about so much more than the shirts. Along the way, everyone got to make their own choices, follow the steps, express themselves, and simply enjoy being part of the group. Every shirt came out one of a kind — just like the person who made it. 💛
