🔥 I’M NOT YOUR TYPICAL MASSAGE THERAPIST.

There’s nothing wrong with a relaxing spa massage—but that’s not what I specialize in.

I specialize in clinical massage and pain relief.

I don’t just follow the same routine on everyone. I pay attention to where you hurt, how you move, what your muscles are doing, and what may actually be contributing to the problem.

Sometimes the muscle that hurts isn't the muscle causing the problem.

🎯 My sessions are:
• Customized to YOU
• Focused on problem areas
• Built around trigger point & therapeutic techniques
• Adjusted to your body's response
• Designed to accomplish more than simply “feeling good for an hour”

And I’m not afraid to work deep and focused when your body needs it.

I’m not here to just rub your back.
I’m here to figure out why it hurts and help you do something about it.

💆‍♂️ WHAT CAN CLINICAL MASSAGE ACTUALLY DO FOR YOU?

Massage isn't just about relaxing for an hour.

When it's performed with a clinical, focused approach, it can be a valuable tool for addressing the muscles, fascia, and movement patterns that contribute to everyday aches, tension, and discomfort.

Here are some of the benefits you may experience from the techniques I use:

🔹 Relieve muscle tension
Focused work can help reduce excessive tension in muscles that are constantly being overworked.

🔹 Release trigger points
Those stubborn “knots” can be addressed with specific, controlled techniques rather than simply massaging them.

🔹 Improve mobility
Tight or restricted muscles can affect how you move. Targeted massage and stretching can help improve your comfortable range of motion.

🔹 Reduce neck and shoulder tension
Hours at a desk, driving, looking down at a phone, lifting, and repetitive movements can all contribute to chronic tension. Targeted work can help address those areas.

🔹 Address back discomfort
Instead of only working directly on the painful spot, I can work surrounding muscles and related areas that may be contributing to the problem.

🔹 Improve body awareness
Hands-on assessment can help you recognize where you're holding tension and how different areas of your body may be connected.

🔹 Support recovery from everyday physical stress
Whether your body is stressed from work, workouts, sitting all day, or simply life, clinical massage can help your muscles recover and function more comfortably.

🔹 Promote relaxation, too
Clinical doesn't mean uncomfortable. Your nervous system still benefits from slowing down, breathing, and allowing your body to relax.

And one of the biggest benefits?

YOUR SESSION ISN'T COOKIE-CUTTER.

I don't believe everyone needs the same massage.

I use my knowledge of anatomy, palpation, trigger point therapy, myofascial techniques, stretching, and focused pressure to tailor the session to what your body needs that day.

If you come in with a tight neck, we're going to address your neck.

If your shoulders are constantly fighting to stay relaxed, we're going to investigate why.

If your lower back hurts, we're not necessarily going to spend the entire session digging into your lower back.

We look at the bigger picture.

That's the benefit of working with a therapist who takes a clinical, individualized approach rather than simply following the same routine every time.

Nervous about booking a massage because you’re embarrassed, uncomfortable, or just don’t know what to expect?

Let me take some of that anxiety away. ❤️

If you’ve never had a clinical massage with me before, you might be wondering:

“What happens when I get there?”
“How much do I have to undress?”
“Am I going to feel awkward?”
“What if I’m embarrassed about my body?”

First — you do NOT have to be embarrassed.

I work with real people and real bodies every day. My job isn’t to judge you. My job is to figure out what’s causing your discomfort and help you feel better.

Here’s what you can expect:

🌿 Your session is tailored to YOU.
Before we start, we’ll talk about what’s bothering you, what you’re feeling, and what you want to accomplish. I’m not just going to run through the same routine on everybody.

🌙 The room is darkened and kept comfortable.
The goal is to create a quiet, private environment where you can actually relax.

🩲 You undress only to your comfort level.
There is no requirement to completely undress. Wear what makes you comfortable, and we’ll work around it as needed.

🛏️ You are properly draped throughout the entire session.
Only the area I am actively working on is uncovered. Everything else stays covered.

🤝 Communication is encouraged.
Too much pressure? Not enough? Too cold? Uncomfortable position? Just tell me. Your comfort matters throughout the entire session.

🔎 I work with the problem areas—not just the obvious symptoms.
Sometimes the area that hurts isn't the only area contributing to the problem. That’s where assessment, palpation, and targeted techniques come into play.

And most importantly…

There is nothing awkward about coming in for help.

Whether you’re dealing with chronic tension, a stiff neck, sore shoulders, back pain, tight hips, headaches, or just muscles that constantly feel like they’re fighting against you — you don’t have to “look a certain way” or know anything about massage before you come in.

You just need to show up and tell me what hurts.

I’ll take it from there.

One of the perks of being your own massage therapist? 😅

You can take a few risks on yourself, experiment with new techniques, and learn first hand what they actually feel like before ever bringing them into your practice.

With that being said… I successfully performed my first psoas release on myself the other day! 🙌

I’ve had a little training with the technique already, but there’s a difference between learning about something and actually applying it. After doing some hands-on work on myself and seeing how my body responded, I decided I wanted to learn even more.

I’ll be doing some additional reading and training on the technique before offering it to clients, but once I’m confident that I can perform it safely and effectively, psoas release will be another technique I can bring into my clinical massage practice.

I’m always learning, always experimenting, and always looking for better ways to help my clients.

Your muscles can hurt—even when you never injured them.

You don't have to fall, pull a muscle, or get hurt for your body to start hurting.

Sometimes it's the things you do every single day:

🖥️ Sitting at a desk
📱 Looking down at your phone
🚗 Driving for hours
🏋️ Working out
👷 Repetitive work
😴 Sleeping in the same position
😩 Stress and constantly holding tension

Over time, your muscles can become tight, overworked, and sensitive. You may even start getting headaches, neck pain, shoulder tension, or that annoying ache in your back without ever knowing exactly why.

That's where a clinical massage can help.

A clinical massage isn't just about laying down and relaxing while someone rubs your muscles. I take the time to figure out where you're hurting, what may be contributing to it, and what your body needs during that session.

Pressure can be adjusted. Areas can be prioritized. Your session is tailored to you, rather than following the same routine every time.

And you don't have to wait until you're miserable to do something about it.

If you've been telling yourself, "It doesn't hurt THAT bad," or "I'll deal with it later," maybe it's time to stop waiting for it to get worse.

Your body doesn't have to be injured for it to deserve some attention.

📅 If you're ready to see what a clinical massage can do for you, get on my schedule.

Pain vs. Discomfort During a Massage — Knowing the Difference Matters

One thing I always want my clients to understand is that intense pressure and actual pain are not the same thing.

Sometimes you’ll feel that “ohhh, that’s a good spot” kind of feeling. 😮‍💨

That’s usually therapeutic discomfort — deep pressure, tenderness, a strong stretch, or that “hurts so good” feeling when we find an area that really needs some attention.

You might think:

“Whew… that’s intense, but I know that’s the spot.”

That kind of discomfort can be completely normal during certain techniques.

But actual pain is different.

🚨 Sharp
🚨 Stabbing
🚨 Burning
🚨 Electric or shooting
🚨 Pinching
🚨 Numbness or tingling
🚨 Or anything that makes you instinctively want to pull away

That is not something you should just tolerate.

And this is where communication is so important.

If you're feeling that “good” discomfort, tell me that too! Let me know what you're feeling and how intense it is. That helps me understand what your body is responding to and whether I need to adjust what I'm doing.

But if you're feeling bad pain, please tell me immediately.

Don't think you're bothering me.
Don't think you're “being difficult.”
Don't think you have to tough it out because you asked for deep pressure.

You hired me to work WITH your body, not against it.

I can adjust the pressure, change the technique, move to another area, or stop altogether if something doesn't feel right.

Every body is different, and every session should be adjusted accordingly.

So please, talk to me during your massage.

If it feels good — tell me.
If it's uncomfortable — tell me.
If it hurts — definitely tell me.

The more you communicate with me, the better I can tailor your session to what your body actually needs.
