Attention Students!📢 There is an update on the deadline for the Fall 2026 Student Experiences Scholarship Application.

The Fall 2026 Student Experiences Scholarship Application deadline is coming up! The GLACLP is offering three student scholarship opportunities!

Applications will close on June 19th, 2026, at 11:59 pm EST.

(2) Internship Scholarships at $700/each, paid in two installments (before the internship begins and halfway through, with proof of success).
(1) Pre-Internship Scholarship at $250, paid in full before the start of the student experience.

Meet Janet, one of the recipients of our Summer 2026 GLACLP Internship Scholarship!☀️

"My name is Janet Adjei, and I am a final year graduate student in Family and Consumer Sciences at Western Michigan University with a focus in Child Life. I am very passionate about supporting children and families through compassionate, culturally meaningful care. My goal is to develop therapeutic play experiences that not only reduce anxiety but also allow children to express their feelings in ways that reflect who they are and where they come from. I strive to create safe, welcoming spaces where families feel respected and empowered during challenging healthcare experiences.

Receiving this scholarship is more than financial support. These funds will help ease the financial challenges of completing my Child Life internship, including housing, transportation, and daily living expenses, allowing me to be fully present in this transformative experience. With this support, I can focus wholeheartedly on learning different skills from a variety of Child Life Specialists. I am grateful for this investment in my future and the trust placed in me to carry this work forward."

Meet Madison, the recipient of our Summer 2026 GLACLP Pre-Internship Scholarship!☀️

“Hi! My name is Madison Merkel, and I am so excited to be on the path toward becoming a Child Life Specialist! After graduating from Ball State University with my degree in Child Life, I’ve had the privilege of supporting families through volunteering at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital and my community-based practicum at Brooke’s Place, where I’ve seen firsthand how therapeutic play can help kids navigate life’s hardest moments. I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be heading to Puerto Rico this summer for my pre-internship practicum! This experience is a dream come true, as it will allow me to provide culturally responsive support in a diverse healthcare setting. I am incredibly grateful to GLACLP for this scholarship as I navigate the costs of an out-of-state placement. These funds will directly help my travel and relocation expenses, allowing me to focus entirely on the families I’ll be serving this summer!"
