I don’t agree with doing dirty business. I don’t agree with unethical behavior. I’m struggling with something on that note, and I just have to get this out.

Most of you know by now I have created my own tea brand, Savage Sips and I pride myself on the quality of that product.

I admit it’s a very small operation. It’s not that I WANT it to be. I’m not ashamed about that but we’re, well, I’m, brand new and miracles don’t happen overnight for all of us. Some of us have to work long and hard to make a small business successful.

What I won’t do is lie to you like some of these other LOADED TEA SHOPS. I won’t lie and tell you I work out of my home kitchen because that’s actually illegal if I’m shipping through the postal service. It’s a violation of cottage law. I am actually licensed through the state and have a separate facility from my home but that’s not what we’re discussing either.

I won’t tell you my product is all natural if it’s not. There are a few of my flavors that have artificial coloring. But my company doesn’t put “ALL NATURAL SWEETENER” on our label and then clearly have artificial sweeteners in the product like a very in-your-face brand does (BTW for your information, SUCRALOSE IS AN ARTIFICIAL SWEETENER…look that up if you don’t believe me…) and MY COMPANY won’t tell you WE were the first EVER tea company to have COLLAGEN in our product because that too would be a lie, though someone recently reported that they were the first. They, in fact were one of the last, but hey who’s pointing fingers?

Ironically, MY premium tea line has MORE collagen and HAS had it since its creation in April of this year, and we aren’t even trying to compete. That’s just our quality. We have collagen, hyaluronic acid, the full spectrum of B vitamins, vitamin C, plus naturally derived energy…JUST SAYIN’…and we did that because we love clean products that serve the whole body, that DO SOMETHING for you as a person, not just to create a good tagline…we want our products to speak for themselves.

What you WILL get from me is quality over quantity. Honesty over BS. And the chance to grow healthier with me.

People think the hardest part of owning a small business is the money.

It’s not.

It’s pouring your whole heart into something you believe in so deeply… and hearing over and over:
“Oh my gosh, I can’t wait to order.”
“You’re gonna do amazing.”
“Send me the link.”
“Next time I’m definitely getting one.”

And then the orders never come.

It’s trying not to take it personally when people you’ve known for years support bigger businesses instead of the person standing right in front of them building something from the ground up.

The truth is… this dream cost me a lot.

It cost me sleep.
Time.
Comfort.
Security.
Money I probably should’ve held onto.
Pieces of who I am.

But I poured everything I had into creating something I truly believe in. Something made with intention, knowledge, passion, and purpose.

And maybe that’s the hardest part — knowing what you created is good, but not knowing how to get it in front of the people who would love it.

Being a small business owner in a small town can feel incredibly lonely sometimes.
Especially when you’re still trying to find your place.
Especially when you’re the outsider trying to build something meaningful.

People don’t always see the late nights.
The research.
The trial and error.
The sacrifices.
The fear.
The self-doubt.

They just see a drink.
A logo.
A table at a market.

But behind every small business is a person hoping all the risk and sacrifice will someday be worth it.

My dreams were never only about profit.

I dream about helping my family.
Giving back to my community.
Creating something that genuinely helps people feel better and live better.
