Age-related muscle wasting (sarcopenia) is real. After 30, you can lose up to 3% to 8% of your muscle mass per decade if you’re just coasting. But here is the secret the fitness industry doesn’t talk about enough: your muscles don’t have a built-in self-destruct timer. They don’t know how old you are. They only know if they are being used, challenged, and fueled.
Muscle loss isn’t a symptom of aging; it’s a symptom of disuse.
You don’t stop lifting because you get old. You get old because you stop lifting.
If you give your body a reason to keep its strength, it will. Pick up the weights, challenge your limits, and eat to support your tissue. Progress doesn’t require perfection, only the choice to improve daily.
Stop letting the calendar dictate your capabilities. Go build your buffer. 🏋️♂️💪
