Balanced Vitality Center (BVC) was born out of my belief that some health conditions require a level of high-touch, personalized, ongoing care from a provider that deeply knows the patient.

PCOS is getting a new name (and honestly, it’s about time).

Experts are now proposing the shift from PCOS to PMOS —>Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome - because this condition was never just about ovaries or “cysts.”

For so many women, this is deeply connected to:
• insulin resistance
• metabolism
• inflammation
• hormone imbalance
• fatigue
• weight changes
• cravings
• fertility
• long-term health risks

And I actually think this shift matters.

Because when we understand PCOS more accurately, we stop minimizing women’s symptoms and start looking at the bigger picture.

We just released a brand new blog post breaking down:
• what this name change means
• the connection between PCOS and metabolic health
• lifestyle strategies that may help support symptoms
• supplements commonly discussed in PCOS support
• why root-cause care matters

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, dismissed, or confused about your symptoms, this is for you.

Reasons why I stopped drinking alcohol altogether and why this “drink” is actually a mocktail.

I didn’t quit because I “had a problem.”
I quit because I realized how much better I felt without it.

Better sleep.
Better recovery.
Better workouts.
Better focus.
Better energy.
Better mental clarity.

As I’ve gotten older and spent more time studying hormones, metabolism, inflammation, aging, and women’s health, I started looking at alcohol differently. Even moderate drinking was affecting me more than I realized.

I also stopped normalizing:
feeling exhausted the next day
poor sleep after a night out
anxiety
brain fog
puffiness and inflammation
disrupted routines

At some point, I had to ask myself if the temporary “fun” was worth how I felt afterward and for me, the answer became no.

Now I genuinely enjoy mocktails, feeling clear headed, waking up energized, and not needing alcohol to enjoy life, celebrate, travel, or have fun.

No judgment at all toward anyone who drinks. I just think more women deserve honest conversations about how alcohol can affect the body, especially in our 30s, 40s, and beyond.

And honestly, I really like who I am and how I feel without it.

Have you noticed your relationship with alcohol changing as you’ve gotten older?

I want you to first focus on getting your dietary fiber intake from whole foods, however, if you struggle to get it and need a supplement, I recommend Thorne’s FiberMend linked in my bio full scripts dispensary.

📣 Things I want women to know today as a Nurse Practitioner:

1️⃣ It is not “too late” to explore hormone replacement therapy.

Yes…there is a window where starting earlier may offer the most benefit. But that does NOT mean women outside of that window can’t still experience meaningful improvements in quality of life, sleep, mood, hot flashes, vaginal health, energy, and more.

Too many women think they “missed their chance.” That’s not always true.

2️⃣ Libido is more complex than people realize.

Sometimes hormones help. Sometimes they help partially. And sometimes we need to explore additional non-hormonal tools, nervous system support, relationship factors, medications, vaginal health, stress, sleep, or other root causes.

Women deserve more than “this is just aging.”

Sometimes it takes patience and personalization to figure it out.

3️⃣ Osteoporosis is NOT just a “little old lady” problem. Honestly, we are seeing it younger and younger.

Go look at my TikTok comments — women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s are being diagnosed every single day.

Bone loss can begin silently long before a fracture happens.

This is why muscle mass, nutrition, hormones, resistance training, protein intake, and preventive screening matter so much earlier than most people think.

Your future health is being built right now -> not at 70.

👏 We need to stop normalizing suffering and start paying attention sooner

Today is National Women’s Checkup Day

A gentle reminder to the women who hold everything together for everyone else: your health matters too.

So many women push through exhaustion, ignore symptoms, delay appointments, and convince themselves they’ll “get to it later.” But caring for your health isn’t selfish. It’s stewardship. Your body speaks long before it screams.

This is your reminder to schedule the checkup. Ask the questions. Run the labs. Prioritize the healing. Drink the water. Get outside. Move your body intentionally. Rest without guilt. Nourish yourself the way you care for everyone around you.
Strong women don’t just survive. They stay well.

At Balanced Vitality Center, we believe prevention, education, and personalized care can change lives. We’re honored to walk alongside women in every season of health and healing.

Here’s to choosing yourself today, too!

Osteoporosis risk factors are more common than many women realize.

Bone loss can happen silently for years before symptoms ever appear — especially during perimenopause and menopause when hormonal changes accelerate bone turnover.

Knowing your risk factors is one of the most important first steps in prevention.

This Mother’s Day, we’re honoring the women who carry so much... often quietly, and often while putting everyone else first.

At Balanced Vitality Center, we have the privilege of caring for women through every stage of life: busy mothers, entrepreneurs, caregivers, leaders, daughters, grandmothers, and women navigating seasons of change while still showing up fully for the people they love.

One thing we see often in medicine is this:
The women who care for everyone else are frequently the last to care for themselves.

Preventative health is not a luxury.
Rest is not weakness.
Prioritizing your well-being is not selfish.
It is foundational.

Our mission has always been about more than symptom management. It’s about helping our patients feel vibrant, empowered, balanced, and deeply supported in their long-term health journey.

This weekend, we hope every woman feels celebrated not only for what she does, but for who she is.

From all of us at Balanced Vitality Center, Happy Mother’s Day to the women who hold so much together with grace, resilience, and love.

Mother’s Day can be beautiful.

But for many women, it’s also a reminder of how much they carry every single day.

The invisible load.
The mental load.
The pressure to keep showing up no matter how exhausted they feel.

If you’ve been pouring from an empty cup lately-this is your reminder that your health matters too.

You deserve support.
You deserve answers.
And you deserve to feel like yourself again.

Tag a woman who needs this reminder this weekend 🤍
