Overcast skies did not overshadow the beauty and hope of this year's Central & North Florida Chapter Walk for Wishes. Seeing the community come together raise (a record breaking $600K+) to grant wishes was beautiful. This surprise wish reveal was the sparkle on top. I am honored to serve on the Board working hard to liaison between the amazing staff and our medical community to make wishes come true. April is World Wish Month. There’s something I still remember from growing up…

My dad and I would watch 60 Minutes together. Every Sunday...started when I was 5 years old.

No big conversations.
No deep “let’s sit and talk” moments.

Just sitting side by side…
watching… reacting… occasionally commenting.

And somehow—
that was connection.

As a pediatrician and coach now, I think about this often—
because connection with adolescents doesn’t always look like a heart-to-heart.

Sometimes it looks like: • Sitting on the couch
• Sharing a show
• Being present without pressure

✨ Connection doesn’t require the perfect words
✨ It requires shared moments

If conversations feel hard right now…
you’re not doing it wrong.

You might just need a different doorway in.
