Last night was a distressing experience. As I was changing Charley's feeding tube, she complained of severe pain in her arm where the picc line is located, and I am grateful that we acted swiftly to bring her to the emergency room, as she has developed a blood clot. The medical team performed another CT scan to ensure she did not have a pulmonary embolism, and, thankfully, the results were negative. The doctor indicated that Charley should be discharged from the hospital within a day or two and will require blood thinners. Further outpatient testing will be conducted to determine if she has any inherited blood clotting conditions. She was just released last Wednesday after a 4-day stay while she still battles her super UTI. Charley is the strongest young woman I know, who still faces numerous challenges every day. I am so sorry you are going through this, baby girl. Please continue to pray for her. Your love and support are greatly appreciated.

-Charley Update💗-

Charley is still in the hospital and fighting hard daily. Shes still in a lot of pain and extremely nauseous. Due to her lack of intake and constant throwing up from the MALS, two days ago they started her on tpn. TPN is all of the nutrients, vitamins, etc that you need in a day that goes into her bloodstream through her PICC line and when she goes home she’ll be doing TPN daily at home as well. They found a surgeon in San Francisco that can do her surgery, so looks like we’ll be going to San Francisco soon. We have a consult next week then after that they’ll try and schedule the surgery asap.
Charley is still dealing with all of her symptoms of which cause her severe pain and nausea. Additionally her memory and confusion is getting worse along with her face/arms/hands/legs are all really swollen. They took her off fluids 5 days ago to try to help with the swelling but unfortunately it didn’t help. They’ve told us the infection and sepsis were gone, but yesterday I told them to recheck her urine because Charley knows her body and sure enough she has another minor UTI. Thank you everyone for the prayers! Please continue to pray my baby! Every single prayer helps!❤️

Update….
It has been confirmed that Charley has a rare condition called MALS it’s where a tendon is laying on a artery in the stomach and blood isn’t able to pump, that is why she is always nauseous. It will have to be surgically removed we don’t know when or who is going to do the surgery. This just one of her many battles finally diagnosed. More prayers are needed please! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Hey everyone here’s an update on Charley. 2 weeks ago Charley was in the hospital for 11 days due to a severe bladder infection. She had multiple iv issues and due to her ultrasound Ivs infiltrating her arms and hands were super bruised and swollen and she missed several rounds of meds and multiple doses of antibiotics. She has what they called a super bladder infection. Yesterday we had to call an ambulance because her infection came back and this time much worse. Her vitals were all over the place along with fever nausea and multiple other symptoms. She was admitted right away with a bladder infection, kidney infection, and sepsis. She is now on two different antibiotics. Some of her blood work came back abnormal as well. These last few days have been some of her hardest yet. She has been in agony dealing with severe pain, nausea, and exhaustion. Due to her iv complications she was suppose to get a port but because she’s septic they had to do a picc line instead. Right now she is just trying her best to keep liquids and food down. Even with her eating her blood sugar keeps dropping as well. There are some additional concerns the Dr.’s have reason to believe she may have a blood clot along with a tendon pressing on her artery in her stomach. Her heart rate is elevated her blood pressure swinging and her oxygen dropping she is a mess and completely drainer. This poor girl has been in agony. Sorry I haven’t updated this in a while we’ve been so busy with so much going on and she has new problems constantly, so it’s hard to keep up with everything. This is a gist of what’s going on right now. She also saw a neurologist at Davis last week and was referred to two more specialty neurologists. She has new diagnosis’s constantly with new problems popping up but still no overall diagnosis of what’s causing everything. She still can’t walk and her vision in her good eye is slowly declining. We ask everyone to please raise my daughter up in prayer! She is so tough and giving it her everything and fighting everyday! She remains positive, strong in her faith, loving, and hilarious as always. She is not doing to well so please pray for her. Hug your family members tight, life is so short and it can change drastically at anytime. To think just in October she was healthy is mind blowing. Feel free to leave comments so I can read them to her. Also feel free to reach out to her, she loves hearing from people and being as social as she can. She wanted me to add that she is up for company so if you want to come see her in the hospital shoot her or I a text. Feel free to share this post so she can get as many prayers as possible. This girl is incredibly strong, tough, and inspirational. We appreciate all of the prayers we’ve received more than anything!❤️

Please pray! Charley has been in and out of the hospital over 10 times in the last 3 months with bladder problems, kidney infection and sepsis amongst many other health issues. She’s also been struggling with blood pressure dropping and spiking, heart rate spikes, and low blood sugar levels amongst many other things. Monday morning started out as a normal day until it wasn’t. I went into Charley’s room to check on her and she was on her bed on her knees doubled over in pain, thank goodness I called 911 because on the way to the hospital she quit breathing for 4 minutes and I thought I was going to lose her. She was then bagged because she couldn’t breathe on her own. Hold your babies and loved ones tight and Please pray for mine!

We have some positive news to share: Charley is now back home, and her test results, including the EEG and MRI, have all come back normal, which is a relief. The neurologist has referred her to Stanford, but the appointment will likely be scheduled at a later date due to insurance clearance and availability. Unfortunately, Charley is still not feeling well and is experiencing a severe headache. After careful consideration, we have decided not to proceed with a second blood patch, as it may potentially cause more harm than benefit. Thank you for your ongoing prayers and support

Hi everyone, I wanted to inform you that Charley has demonstrated remarkable strength in the face of extraordinary new challenges over the past few months. Despite undergoing a second spinal tap procedure on February 2nd at Davis, she has been unable to stand or walk since. She has also struggled with all of her other symptoms including urinary retention, so she now has a catheter in full time. She has had over 50 of her non epilerpic seizure spells which continue to worsen. Yet her unwavering determination remains full of hope. Furthermore, she was diagnosed with a spinal leak and required a blood patch, and over the last three weeks, she has been seen at several hospitals, where she has received care. She was back at uc Davis two weeks ago and they found autobodies for an auto immune in her blood but they later on ended up ruling it out with an mri. She has a ton of symptoms going on and not doing so well. She has had a terrible headache since the spinal tap and has been in agony. Yesterday, I made the decision to take her to Enloe for a second blood patch, but instead, she underwent a CT scan, which revealed areas of concern on her brain. This new information has presented an opportunity for targeted treatment that will propel her forward. She was subsequently transported by ambulance to Mercy General in Sacramento, a facility renowned for its expertise in neurology and seizures, where she will receive the specialized care she needs to rise above her challenges. She is on the neurology floor there and is currently getting a 24 hour eeg done and also did an mri. She's very exhausted, uncomfortable, and in a lot of pain but she remains positive and rooted in her Faith. There's also a lot more going on with her but it's too much to explain everything. Sorry it has been such a while since my last post. We've been so busy and exhausted and it's hard to update everything. She wants me to thank every single person for the love and prayers. I will read all of the comments to her that you all leave. Feel free to share this the more prayers the better for my baby! Please pray for her.❤️❤️

Hey everyone, I just wanted to give an update on Charley. I’m sorry it’s been a while since the last one.

Charley is still going through so much. She continues to deal with many serious health issues and is really struggling with the symptoms. She has now had over 50 non-epileptic seizures/episodes, and they completely drain her. She has also fallen 6 times. Her head has been hurting constantly since she was at Oroville Hospital, and she’s facing obstacle after obstacle.

She is still battling stomach issues, neuropathy, heart rate, oxygen desaturation, vitamin deficiencies, and more. Her right eye is still closed, and if it is opened, she has now lost almost all light perception in it. Her left eye is often very blurry, which makes it hard for her to see.

We saw an ophthalmologist at UC Davis this week, and she has referred Charley to the neurology/ophthalmology team. The opthamologist we saw was very sweet and reassuring that she will study and figure out what is wrong with her and has chosen to stay on her case. She said what Charley is going through is very rare and she has only read about similar things in textbooks, never seen it in person. The doctor believes Charley has an additional rare genetic disorder that could be causing her eye and head problems (separate from her mosaic gentetic disorder). The Dr. requested more genetic testing even though she’s already been referred to a geneticist.

She had a doctor’s appointment every single day this week, and today her in-home health nurse came to see her. Charley also has a second spinal tap scheduled for next Monday. Please keep her in your prayers.

Charley and I want to thank every one of you who has been praying, checking in, and supporting her. It truly means more than you know. Through all of this, she has stayed positive, strong, and still has a big heart and her sense of humor.

Please continue to pray for my baby. 💗

Happy Sunday Funday Football Day. Today has been a tough day for our girl, she's had two non-epileptic seizures so far. We're hoping she doesn't have any more because even though they aren't epileptic, they are very difficult to watch. We got her out of bed and we're watching our Niners play.
