Summer is almost over! 🤯

We're not celebrating, but we have to be honest and say, we're excited for fall!! 🍂

Fall is our favorite season. Football, hoodies, gorgeous colors, crisp days, a more stable routine, and a renewed focus on fitness. 💪

It's also back to school time, 📚 which puts us in the mood to learn and try new things! Like a different type of cardio, joining a gym instead of only working out at home, taking a fitness or nutrition class, trying that machine at the gym you've been avoiding, testing new flavors of protein shakes, or trying new recipes for meal prep days. 💡😊

The changing of seasons is natural time to look at our current routine, tighten it up, change it up, and refocus on those long-term goals. 🎯

We'll see you at the gym!💪🎉

You know it's time to take charge of your health. You want to feel better, have more energy, be strong and independent as long as possible, but how? What do you do first? 🤔

Any time you start something new, or work to bring something to the next level, it can be a little overwhelming. This is one reason many people looking to improve their health hire a trainer! 💪

Here's 7 of our favorite reasons to have a trainer:

💥 1. Knowledge💡
Certified trainers didn't get there by accident. Tap into their knowledge of fitness, nutrition, and the mechanics of your body. They will teach you proper form and motion so your risk of injury is lower and you can actually make progress!!🎉

💥 2. Accountability
Nothing makes you show up better than having someone waiting on you at the gym.😉 Also, you'll work harder with a trainer than on your own, thus making more progress.

💥 3. Goal setting
Trainers know how to get there, so they can help you set realistic, attainable goals.✅️

💥 4. Individualized plan
Sure, you can Google how to lose weight and tone your glutes, but will it work for you? Fitness isn't one-size-fits-all. A trainer meets you where you are, can help identify imbalances and help you work in a way that works for you.🏋‍♂️
💥 5. Exercise variety
Fitness is not just squates, benching, and the tread mill. (Although you'll do lots of those.😉)
A trainer finds many unique and interesting exercises that keep things fresh and help target your weaknesses and promote progress.

💥 6. Nutritional advice
Your health journey is dependent on how you fuel your body. A good trainer will be able to help guide you with general meal plans, macro ratios, pre and post workout fuel, etc. 🥬🍗

💥 7. Promotes a healthy lifestyle change.
It takes time to create new habits. A trainer can help you take the necessary steps to achieve lasting change. They'll get you on track, keep you on track, and help you get back on track when life happens. 😊

We've checked....😜😂

But seriously, it's harder to lose weight when you're sleep deprived, so take a nap!!

Or at least go to bed before midnight.😉

Sleep and fitness. They go together like peanut butter and jelly. Skip out on one and the other just isn't as good.😉

Regular exercise has been proven to improve quality of sleep. Getting 7-9 hours of sleep has been proven to improve results in the gym. Plus, did you know is practically impossible to lose weight successfully without getting enough rest?

If you find yourself struggling to get the proper amount of sleep, here's some tips for you:

Avoid devices for at least 60 minutes before bed. The light they emit stimulates our body to release hormones that keep us awake.🫩

Ideally, don't eat later than 2 hours before bedtime. If you do find yourself hungry, have something protein and/or fiber rich, like cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, or oatmeal.

Try some stretching or breathing exercises. They will help you relax and let go of the stress of the day.

Some of our clients have found it helpful to add a magnesium supplement to their routine. Magnesium helps the body relax and maintain proper rest.

Another thing many of our clients have found helpful is to get their hormones tested. Hormones change as we age and knowing where you're at can help you come up with a more successful sleep plan.

Whatever you try, be consistent. Go to bed at the same time, get up at the same time. Your internal clock will thank you. 😴

We all know that consistency is the key to long- term success. Small habits, repeated day in and day out, drive us to our goals. 🎯

But what does consistency really mean?? Is it doing all the things, all the time?? 🤯

That's not real life.

Here is what consistency really looks like:

Missing a workout, but still going to the gym the next day.

Eating that high protein meal even if the rest of the day wasn't perfect.

Dropping the weight and still completing your workout.

Doing 20 minutes of cardio instead of skipping it because you don't have an hour.

Cutting your workout short instead of skipping it altogether.

Planning a rest day into your routine.

Training with less intensity because you didn't get enough sleep last night.

What do all these have in common?

Consistent action!! Consistency doesn't mean perfection at all times. It means action at all times. Even if that action is a rest day. 😊💪
