In June 2019, Candyse was diagnosed with Lupus Nephritis, aka Kidney Lupus. She spent a month in a couple of different hospitals before starting dialysis. In July 2019, Candyse was back in the hospital after they found a blood clot in her lung. Throughout dialysis, doctors and nurses pulled over 200 pounds of fluid off of her. In September of 2019, Candyse was beginning her recovery by walking aga
in. She still couldn't drive because she had blind spots from a protein build up in her eyes. Over the course of the next 8 months, Candyse had to change her whole life - from diet to regular movement, and taking daily medications. In July of this year, a kidney biopsy revealed a transplant was needed. As if all this wasn't enough, Candyse developed Shingles on her face. Thankfully, the Shingles cleared up after about 3 weeks. Candyse is still doing dialysis today, 3 times a week, 3 hours each treatment. She is back to work full-time and is hopeful she will find a kidney donor very soon. This is where you come in!
